good evening everyone, i'm ron steele. and i'm amanda goodman. thanks for joining us. a u-s marshal fires his weapon during a traffic stop. waterloo police say the u-s marshals task force was undergoing a fugitive investigation when they pulled over the driver. the driver got out of the car and ran away -- and has not yet been found. authorities are continuing to investigate at this time. kwwls olivia mancino has been investigating this incident thoroughly ...she joins us now live i've had many conversations with the u-s marshalls office involved in this case, and they will not say who they were looking for or what crime this fugitive has commited. we do know the incident happened in a waterloo neighborhood, and one neighbor we spoke to was a traffic stop in a waterloo neighborhood turns sour when a member of the u-s marshals service fire a weapon. the us marshalls

the weapon-- and waterloo police weren't called until what happened next. "police say the alleged fugitive took off running in this area near gable and manson streets." "oh yeah i was nervous, i didn't know what was going on" that's mary campbell. it's dark outside now, but just the morning prior she watched the marshal service once the driver ditched his car near campbell's home and took off running. campbell says she saw two officers and one man in plain clothes in her yard. they were looking for someone. "they were walking around out there, around my garage and in my garage too" campbell has lived in her home more than 30 years... she says she's never seen anything like this. and she hopes she won't again-- the us marshal service has still not found the fugitive. the u-s marshal service has released the following statement:

now from the mississippi river in dubuque. and brad, there's no hard data yet, but it's been easy to see the difference between last year and this year. i'm told the u-s army corps of engineers won't have final numbers for the amount of traffic that came through these locks and dams this year for another couple of weeks. even without those numbers, it's easy to say that, thanks to this weather, it's been smooth sailing this year. this was the scene last november north of guttenburg. boats behind it, slowed down by river is free of all ice... in fact, it's flowing great on a day when temperatures spiked above 50 degrees. season. (sam mathiowetz, lock and dam 10 lockmaster) "it allows them to have a little more more regular speed and it's also a lot safer for the boats, the crew working at the lock and dams, and the boat crew itself." and no ice means these fisherman have had to trade their buckets on
10:05 pm
(brad hanson, @bhansonkwwl) "well, the lack of ice on the river has certainly meant easier passage for boats coming through, it's also meant that maintence crews, working to maintain these channels, have been able to get ahead." "what it does is it allows us to move from one spot to the next, so if we had an area that we had to dredge to maintain the 9 foot channel, we can get it done so the weather, by not having ice, did not impede the maintenance process for us." and now the barge season has pretty much come to an end--meaning we most likely won't see this, this year. by the way, we talked about the
