see moisture overspread the area overnight, with some isolated thunderstorms possible. that's in parts of central iowa right now. here's a wider view. our storm is still getting together to our southwest, and will follow this front, which is stationary right now. it will lift north as a warm front overnight keeping temperatures near record levels. future track throughout the overnight hours shows rain overspreading the area and lasting through tomorrow morning. current visibility right now is reduced thinks to areas of drizzle and fog. the visibility should improve as the rain gets in here. storm track 7 live weather network shows the reduced visibility. more on how much rain to expect coming up in just a few minutes. a cedar falls police officer is

morning assault that all started at a grocery store. this man -- michael myers -- allegedly charged the officer as he was getting out of his police car -- near the college square manor on boulder drive -- behind the hy-vee store. kwwl's jessica hartman reports. myers started his day at the grocery store. while eating his way through the store -- hyvee assaulted two workers -- one leaving witha bloody lip -- before leaving. hartman "myers ran just a couple blocks away to this apartment complex where he is a their cop cars." that's when cedar falls police officer nick puls spotted him. "the assault lasted about 10 in the head when the other officer tased him and got him off." with so many recent officerinvolved shootings - - i asked if this assault could have escalated to that. "every situation that we get into, where violence is

happens very quickly. the officers have proceeded to that is difficult to tell. thankfully it did not. myers' neighbors say they are not close with him. is unemployeed." the extent of officer puls' injuries are unkown at this time. according to police -- myers is charged with robbery and assault. authorities say myers has a lenghty police record -- including arrests for drug and theft charges. new at ten a man is recovering tonight after a hunting accident in guthrie country. 32-year-old shaymus smith was shot in the right leg by a shotgun -- fired from another member of his hunting party shortly after two- thirty this afternoon. he was taken to a des moines

at last word -- smith is expected to recover from the incident. the u-s marshals look for a man responsible for a murder -- reported more than a year ago. 20-year-old bryan bridges is wanted in connection to the crime. according to authorities -- bridges broke into a kansas home last year -- and shot the home owner. authorities say bridges has connections to people in mexico, colorado and even iowa. 20-thousand dollars is being offererd for information leading to his arrest. those who served -- and made the ultimate sacrifice -- are honored this weekend in the quad cities. it was an emotional ceremony -- as wreaths were set on grave sites to honor fallen soldiers. it's all part of the wreaths across america program -- started at organizers say the wreath itself is an important symbol. there there is no beginning point. no end point. has been always will be appreciation for people who have the courage to do whats right and to fight for

storm track 7 live doppler radar. we are tracking some rain across the area. light to moderate at this time. but southwest there are rain showers and even some thunderstomrs. we can't rule out a rumble of thunder. no severe weather expected. here are a look at the current visibility readings across the area. many of us have below 5 miles of visibility. tama county has a dense fog advisory through midnight tonight, for visibility less than a quarter mile at times. eventually the fog will dissipate as we see rain track into the area. temperatures right now across eastern iowa have a wide range, from the 40s to the 50s. it's pretty easy to find where the warm front is sitting early this evening. . our storm system is still to the south west, with a front overhead in our area. here's a look at future track. early this evening we will see fog, drizzle and areas of light rain. after we get to midnight, we will see more rain overspread the area as moisture

continue into with a few thunderstorms the afternoon hours on sunday, the rain will continue across the area. should remain east of the area. but nonetheless, there could be some areas of moderate to heavy rainfall. as we go throughout sunday night, the rain will continue, but more on a scattered basis as the area of low pressure, or center of the storm, begins to track into eastern iowa. throughout the day on monday we will see off and on rain showers. to our northwest, cold air will begin to wrap around the storm system, and that's where there could be some snow. here in eastern iowa, the

mark, so we will stay all rain. here are a look at the forecast computer models for rain fall. these aren't going to be exact amounts, however, widespread areas of one to two and a half inches are possible, with localized areas receiving up to three inches. this is going to be over a 24 to 36 hour period, so flash flooding is not going to be a great concern. we have to be careful with ponding on the roadways, and we will have to watch the area rivers and streams as they could be on the rise early next week. it's something we closely.

underway. earlier today -- ron steele stood outside the dubuque hy-vee -- ringing the bell for the salvation army. organizers say the money raised will help people in need right here in eastern iowa. donors say it's important to give back. "i know what it was like being a "there are so many people in these people." and ron says he had some fun while outside. he even danced a little to bring in more money. our next stop will the coralville walmart on december 19th. christmas spirit is in the air in waterloo as the rotary club of the cedar valley goes caroling.
