this morning, in waterloo... the suspect got onto southbound i- 380 and then led police on a chase lasting more than thirty minutes into buchananounty... police say the suspect drove into a field between the brandon exit and the jesup exit and then ran from the vehicle... five agencies are at the scene and still in pursuit of the suspect -- who is now believed to be on foot... again this started around 5 this morning- at this tiime..police are still searching for the suspect. did not intelligently waive his miranda rights when he admitted to the crime...because of his mental health... "was a form used in the process of informing mr. stern of his miranda rights?" "no." his attrney's want certain statements to be excluded from next months trial. that date is set for january twenty- sixth. the state of iowa has terminated the medicaid contract of wellcare of iowa. wellcare is one of the four companies selected to manage iowa's medicaidrogram. an iowa administrative law judge recommended the wellcare contract be terminated because of an unfair bidding process. director, janet phipps, agreed with the recommendation of an administrative law judge that the contract be tossed out. she also said wellcare failed to disclose a corporate integrity agreement with the federal govenment, concerning 2014 fraud convictions against three of its former executives, which brought 1 hundred 37-million dollars in fines against wellcare.

including a special group of carolers from nebraska - who are spreading good cheer -- and capturing the magic of the season... brian mastre has their story this morning... grass roots movements can be as unpredictable as the weather. no one ever really knows what ideas will catch on with the masses. for six weeks these residents of seven oaks retirement community have been preparing for this morning. they're headed to the nearby diner in florence the legendary harold's koffee house. "it is a hometown diner where they know you. i'm bad with

what would the customers think? ("good morning harold's customers. these are the seven oaks singers." and just like "deck the halls with boughs of holly..." ...breakfast took a break. the conversations paused and no one seemed to mind the side order of christmas carols. if she could the owner would add the singers to the menu. "the music started and there they started singing." kenny bowtie, the most musical of the bunch, helps keep them on point, even if the membership rules are fairly laxed.

whoever shows up and sings, we include them. if they like to sing, that's what counts." some of the singers remember caroling as children and wonder, what happened to those days? "i think we need more and more of this to make people happy and make them realize what it's all about, what christmas is all about." "this is our last song. i'd love some louder than others. "i sat here and i enjoyed every minute of it. because when they anyplace else." seven christmas songs, 12-minutes worth each followed by applause. the seven oaks singers are now planning an encore. not sure when or where but hope you will join in, too.
