here...you never know how much ice is underneath all this snow. now, i spent the morning in a waterloo neighborhood...and look at the snow/ sleet mixture coming down.. it's a gorgeous sight if you're inside but for someone like jim johnson, a waterloo postman, these conditions are extxremly tough and dangerous.. yeah the wind is absolutely the worst- always for me you know if it was just coming down it wouldnt be as bad but you know it it's driving right in your face. it's tough. as i said that snow mix..is wet, jim thought he made me cry w wen i was talking with him today...but it's the type of snow that just hits you from every angle. jim told me, they can't keep their cars running, no matter how cold it is....because the car needs to stay locked- to protect your mail...so a little help is always nice- whenever you get the chance, please help out by shoveling your sidewalks. now, lets talk about the roads

waterloo police who say there's been 27 accidents in black hawk county ..but as the sun goes down roads can get even more slick so take it slow and give yourself plenty of time twnight. we've got you covered, lauren moss ...kwwl news. in cedar falls-- the roads,--the main ones are better than before-- university avenue on the cedar falls side has gotten better although there's still compacted snow on the ground as for parking lots and side streets--it's a different story i've seen probably half a dozen people get their cars stuck on side streets and neighborhoods-- however plows are working diligently in parking lots to get them cleared, the downside of that though is huge snow piles all over parking lots. cedar rapids. the city issuing a snow emergency staaing at noon today and going until noon tomorrow, that means you cannot park in snow emergency routes, we have a link to those routes on our websit. kwwl's kristin rogers has been taking a closer look at the know? spoke with he streets superintendent this afternoon, he said they are working the plows in three shifts with about 30 plows out at a time. but around 2 a-m it is expected to be all plows on deckkwith around 90 plows working to clear the streets in time for the morning commute. meanwhile sidewalk plows could be seen throughght downtown. the streets superintendent told me the temperatures out
