bus crash in chicago. police say the burlington trailways bus crashed into a sign on an interstate. the woman -- nicole underwood -- from des moines -- was taken to the hospital -- where she died. she was 21 years old. the bus was traveling from omaha to chicago. one person is dead, others are injured after a multi vehicle accident in linn county. it happened on highway 151 in fairfax. a car crossed the center line slamming into another car... a third vehicle swerved to miss the accident but ended up hitting the car driven by terri skalsky. skalsky was taken to the hospital, but according to the iowa state patrol...she has died. road conditions causing problems all over eastern iowa. a deputy's dashcam video...caught shows just how dangerous it can be. storm track 7's lauren moss joins us now live in waterloo with more details- right now roads are improving.... plows have been

shoveling.. ..but as you can see behind me..roads are still covered with some snow..and even ice in some areas. it can be very dangerous... to see just how dangerous- take a look at this is video caught by a winneshiek county deputy... first you can see a car swerving... it starts to go in the other lane.... but it recovers... then wait a little longer... and you see another car lose control...but this car isn't as lucky.... it swerves... off to the left...does a competee 90 degree turn.... goes into the other lane... and slips there because another car was already in the ditch as well. the sheriff's office wrote on their facebook page saying: let and we've been saying that all night and all day today.. but it's something that should be taken very seriously...as roads are still snow and ice covered. weve got you covered, live in waterloo lauren moss ...kwwl news. thanks lauren- take it slow on side streets especially.

streets are still completely covered. plows have been working hard, but there's a lot of snow to get to. take a look at this video out of waterloo. many people spent the day digging their cars out of all that snow. driving down interstate 380 in linn county... you can see vehicles every mile or so on the side of the road and in ditches after sliding off the road during yesterday's storm. some programs in the area like horizon meals on wheels had to cancel its delivery services for the day... so volunteers could avoid the same fate. "a lot of our volunteers are super willing to get out there little bit, play it a little bit safe for us." horizon meals on wheels says they recieved a few phone calls from concerened clients... but because the service previously delivered emergency frozen meals in case of situations like this... most clients had the needed.

crews...in dubuque. they've been working around the clock -- even bringing out extra plow trucks. storm track seven's shirley descorbeth took a ride-a-long with dubuque's public works department. she's live now in dubuque. shirley...telll us how are they dealing with the clean up? well...they say it was a challenging storm to clean up after...because of all the sleet. and right now -- the crew is putting in extra hours to make sure the snow is removed. the men and women on the team are working 12 hour shifts -- around the clock. during my ride-a- long...we went through downtown dubuque - today they're widening the streets...so it's easier to drive. by now -- main street have been plowed -- also residential. still, the crew is using a lot of resources to get the job "we're gonna put down 200 pounds of salt...i think last night i went through 27-thousand pounds."

the size of it's astounding -- in fact brad hanson's been here a while -- i haven't seen him yet -- he's currently standing by live somewhere else on deck -- and brad -- this ship is certainly something else -- the u-s-s iowa is a truly remarkable ship--and a great way to spend a day ahead of the big rose bowl game later this week. this is a ship that first saw action back in the 1940's--starting in world war two. it saw action not only in the war, and once again during the cold war. she earned numerous awards throughout the years, and even had the distinction of carrying f-d-r across the atlantic. now it's a museum open to the public, and they're thrilled to have so "but it's just wonderful to have them on board. we always feel like they're so supportive of our efforts and saving the ship and preserving her history." the ship is free to iowa residents with an iowa i-d year round.

fans are very excited, in fact there were some hawkeye fans who flew out at 5 o- clock this morning. about 12 hours later, there are still flights planned to be full of hawkeyes, as hundreds of them flock to california. singer---craig strickland who went on a duck hunting trip a few days ago with his friend in the midst of a dangerous winter storm backroad anthem band member craig strickland and 22-year-old chase morland set out for their duck hunting trip last saturday. troopers began searching for them on sunday after they did not return from their trip. before the duck hunt, chase morland sent out a haunting tweet that reads 'in case we don't come back, backroad craig and i are going right through winter storm goliath to kill ducks in oklahoma. hashtag, into the storm.' morland's body was found yesterday morning at kaw lake. the weekend storms in oklahoma have killed at least three people and has injured more than 100 others. good news-- the iowa department of agriculture and land stewardship is lifting the ban on all live bird exhibitions at the beginning of the

the ban was put in place on may 21st after the outbreak of the avian flu. it canceled all live bird exhibitions at county fairs, the iowa state fair, livestock auctions, and other bird gatherings in hopes to minimize the spread. the department announced lifting the ban today as a result of iowa now considered free of the avian flu. need more pep in your step for that work out? grab a cup of joe beforehand. researchers at the university of georgia say they've found drinking coffee can enhance your endurance. the group took a closer look at previous studies on caffeine, coffee and sports. they found significant improvements in endurance performance in five of nine studies. there is moderate evidence that drinking coffee improves endurance... specifically in cycling and running. police are trying to get to the bottom of a bizarre series of church thefts. baby jesus statues have been stolen from five catholic churches since christmas eve. this is happening in new jersey.
