how's it going out there ron? it's a beautiful sunny california late afternoon here. the coaches answered media questions today about the game. coach ferentz had a classic line he said iowa doesn't get to go to the gourmet store when we go shopping. president bruce harreld told me today he believes coach ferentz sees what some other coaches don't see in potential recruits. "a lot of athletes today say what does it take to make the cut. to make the team. and i think with kirk, there is no level, there is no line. it's an issue of continuing improving from the next day and the next and the

"typically what happens is the patient is the safest one in the compartment and the paramedic is the one that ends up flying about." he tells me they do the best they can, to arrive timely and safely, no matter what and no matter when. (nats) he tells me when they are driving with their lights and sirens on they are responcible for any accidents that might happen, so they are also driving with a lot of responcibility on their shoulders in that regard as well. we've got you covered live in cedar rapids, kristin rogers...kwwl news. area ambulance service is approaching 19 thousand calls for service so far in 2015, it's a number they say seems high, they are very busy. remember if you see an ambulance coming with it's lights and sirens on, you can help them out by pulling over and clearing the roadway.

rescued from a house... one adoption center took them in.... and has been working to kisses she's such a good girl" carissa shima has been taking care of july and 5 other cats. she felt the need to, horrible... there was just dirt and garbage everywhere..." these cat's had been living in a hoarder home.. "it was wow... i cant believe that people and animals were living there..." even with emergency care... nat "she was just too far gone." waverly pet adoption wasn't able to save all the cats they were helping.... sadly one passed away... "she was just too anemic and too dehydrated... the other cats... weren't in much better shape... "it was hard to see.. they were very filthy.. underweight... flea infested..." when they got to the vet... "and in bathing one of them.... the water would just turn red with the flee dirt...." after proper medication

"they have to adapt to the human world and to learn to what microwave sounds like or a tv sounds like." and after a few more weeks.... they'll be ready for not only a new life.. but also a new home... "they're absolutely the most loving creatures and i think in some way shape or form i feel like they're thankful for their second chance... they used up few of their nine lives. teams are not safe in iowa. last month, uni knocked off north carolina. last night, it was iowa's turn to take down an undefeated team. iowa hosting the number one ranked spartans to start big ten play. the hawks played very well from the tip -- but also had some good fortune on their side. look at this: a michigan state player accidentally knocks the ball into the basket for iowa. second half now -- iowa on the run. peter jok spotting up in the far corner. he knocks down a three. he hit two in a row to help iowa build a 19-point lead. iowa wins 83-70.

a before the san antonio spurs game monday night.. a coyote saved the day. the bat flew on to the court before tip-off monday night. but here comes the coyote.. the spurs' mascot.. dressed as bat-man.. the caped coyote quickly corralled the flying rodent with a fishing net before handing it off to authorities for release. as impressive as this bat apprehension is.. it might not be the best one in spurs history. let's go to storm track seven chief meteorologist mark
