dolores flynn faces second degree murder charges. last week -- police found her ex husband,,ary breckenrrge, dead in their home on jackson street. police arrested flynn monday at mercy hospital. they say video from traffic and surveillance cameras was key... "we reviewedll that footage, saw her carrying a bag we we utlimately looated it, where she had hidden it or disposed of it. so again, the cameras played a pivotal role in this location. flynn is being held at the dubuque county jail on a 500-thousand dollar bond. this morningg- it didn't t ake long for a firefighter to arrive at the scene of a fire. it happened at his own barn. the fire happened early this morning at a barnnon gilbertville road. the gilbertville fire chief says hay bales caught on fire...though he wasn't sure how it started. four horses were inside the barn at the time. they all got out safely. new at noon:

an early morning fire in minnesota kills two people on an amish farm. crews were called to battle a house fire yesterday morning. two people died. two others were rescued and taken to a hospital. the cause of the fire is still being investigated-- but the brutally cold conditions and equipment freezing made it harder to fight. be glad this isn't your car -- a driver needs more than an ice scraper. this video is out of buffalo. the car was parked next to lake erie and the waves splashed the sides of the car then froze overnight. another driver can't even get to their car -- a sinkhole opening up in this missouri town. a nearby water main break caused the problem. no one was hurt when the car fell into the sinkhole and crews have since pulled it out of the hole. continuing coverage...another university takes away an honorary degree from bill cosby. george washington university said it made the

"renewed distress" for students and alumni who are survivors of sexual assault. cosby was recently charged with sexual assault. cosby's attorneys have filed a motion to dismiss the charges against him. they claim the charges were illegally, improperly, and unethically filed. this afternoon we're hearing from the family of a man shot and killed by waterloo police. derrick ambrose junior was shot by officer kyle law in 2012. a grand jury found the officer's use of force was justified. through a settlement -- the city is now paying two and a half million dollars to the parents of ambrose and a lawyer in a wrongful death lawsuit... "the economics part can never put a value on my son, my son was up and going, he was with me in my custody, and derrick jr was with me and going to school up and finishing school up" this is believed to be the largest city settlement of a police-shooting lawsuit in iowa history.

some iowans are actually excited about these cold temperatures. ice fishers taking advantage of the ice. but the d-n-r is warning the ice might not be that thick...because of the warm december we had. ice fishers are trying to be cautious... weston- "it's scary when you ice..go a little ways and drill a little hole." the d-n-r says to look for discolored ice or snow as signs of weakness...and make sure there's at least four inches of quality ice before you decide to fish there. tire shops across eastern iowa are seeing a lot more flat tires and blowouts-- and there may be a reason for that. kwwl's amanda gilbert has the story (pressure check) does this look familiar
