"so, so tender hearted. when he was in desert storm. he was with the national guard out of cook in the medical unit, and he could hear the fighting in the distance, the guns going off, and it just bothered him knowing what was happening." they say he was quick to fight for injustices of any kind--an irony they recognize and struggle with, in his death. i spoke with memphis police this afternoon--they tell me this is one of 12 homocides they've had in 2016--an unusually high number, they say.
