police are working to see if a bomb threat at an eastern iowa school is connected to threats reported along the east coast. iowa city west high school was evacuated and classes canceled after a bomb threat was called into iowa city police. officers say it was a similar call to those received in seven states on the east coast. investigators say the calls in new jersey were apparently routed through california. three are dead and two others hurt in a crashin eastern iowa. it happened on highway 63 near chickasaw county road b-54 last night. thaas south of new hampton. here's ` picture from the new trtrbune. the iowa state patrol says bertha smith -- from waterloo -- did not yield to a semi - and her car was hit. latorris duffie, keith demry and

all three were in their twenties. eastern iowan will have to stand trial for a crash that caused the deaths of two teenage girls in western iowa... 19-year-old trevor feauto of clarksville was allegedly driving drunk in august of 2014 in sac county-- and his pickup crashed into a car. he was supposed to be sentenced tuesday - but a plea deal was taken ff the table. the crash killed 16-year-old bailey jacobsen and lindsey quirk were killed in the crash. their families said a plea deal was unjust. in the iowa legislature -- lawakers vote today on a bill that would deal with crimes committed on an area native american settlement. the measure, which passed in the senate, would give the meskwaki settlement in tama full jurisdiction over handling offenses committed by or against indians on the

a local bar owner is saying enough is enough- he is sick of people breaking into his waterloo bar- so he's taking matters into his own hands. police say that 28 year old charles stocks jr broke into parks road inn- bashing three video poker machines with a hammer- stealing the cash- before taking off. police say they found him moments later, walking out of the bar with a hammer and cash on him. stocks jr. is facing burglary

kwwl's lauren moss speaking with the bar owner today- and lauren, he says he hopes other people will learn from this- his bar is not to be messed with. well that's right amanda, you better not.. his name is rick brink-e-ma..and he told me, this is more than a bar to him. he keeps a close eye on it- and waterloo police say this is charles stocks jr. breaking into one of three poker machines at park road inn. you a little bit of work to break into them. but owner rick brink-e- ma says he's not worried. the police probably had him in 3minutes.." "as soon as they get in the door, the alarm is going off and they don't have very much time before police get here." rick calls this place his second home. ." it's a close bunch that hangs out here- we are on third fourth generation of people here now.." he says it's the oldest bar in waterloo.
