semi trail jackknifed on highway 218 northbound just south of waverly. no injuries - but it's caused quite a headache for drivers -- here's a look at the backed-up traffic.. but it wasn't just the roads- shoveling wasn't easy either. take it from andrew vanpatten, helping his mom shovel on his snowday. i also spoke with the black hawk county sheriff's office who responded to multiple accidents all day today. they say take your time out there- as roads may stil be we've got you covered, lauren moss kwwl news. the weather also causing some power outages in eastern iowa early this morning. mid-american says about 1,000 customers in black hawk county were without power this morning from continuing coverage... a local business in the cedar valley is closing its doors. according to a flier sent out to residents - - simpson furniture with locations in cedar falls and ccalville says it will be closing bothhlocations. the stores were closed today - - in preration for what simpson called its biggest sale ever. kwwl has reaed out - - but was not able to reach anyone for comment.

a garage is destroyed after an early morning fire. crews sponded to the fire around 2:30 this morning in elk run heights. they say the fire started smoldering for a second time later this morning. they also tell us the second floor collapsed during the fire. no one was hurt-- and the cause is under investigion at this tme. new i ito the newwroom, police are investigating a stabbing at a waterloo home. officers say - - one victim was sent to he hospital with a stab wound. the incident happened in the 500 block of reihl street just before 5 this evening. police have not released any ore information at this t tme. an iowa college is receiving push back for its plan to hire a full-time coach for its shooting sports club. a petition is going around calling for all of simpson colleee to be weapons free. it also calls on the college's board of trustees to reverse a decision to hire a coach and to stop letting students store firearms in a locked safe on campus. petition supporters argue

missing people -- but they don't normally go on searches for missing goats. a research goat escaped from the university of iowa last week and officers have been on the lookout ever since. this is a picture of a goat t hat resembles the escapee. kwwl's hillary maglin has more. a goat named william tops the list of coralville's most wanted.
