let's check on your weather now with storm track 7 meteorologist eileen loan. good morning. good morning. it's much colder than what it was at this time yesterday morning, but at least we aren't dealing with the snowfall. temperatures right now are in the single digits to the north and teens to the south. the winds aren't too bad this morning. they are out of the west from 5 to 10 miles per hour. that's good news as far as the roads go. the snow won't be blowing around as much. the northern parts of iowa right now are dealing with partly covered snow and ice roadways, so

the mind. storm track 7 live doppler radar shows dry conditions across eastern iowa, but there are a few flurries to the north, and we will day with a clipper system moving flakes flying, especially this afternoon. here's the forecast couple more chances for snow in we begin with decision 2016 -- and even though the candidates are in new hampshire -- and calling for a do-over. cruz of stealing the iowa caucuses. cruz topped trump on monday night -- but trump says the results should be thrown out. he's upset because fellow candidate ben carson says rumors

circulated by the cruz campaign before -- and during -- the caucuses... which he believes affected the outcome. "actually i think i came in you know, oh you know that voter dishonest cookies, i wanna tell ya. it is no surprise that donald is throwing yet another temper tantrum or if you like, yet another trumper tantrum. cruz said he has apologized to carson. the caucuses are known for thinning the herd -- which is exactly what we're seeing this week. two more republicans have dropped out of the race. kentucky senator rand paul is out. he's expected to turn his attention to his senate re- election campaign now. former senator rick santorum is also ending his campaign. he won the iowa caucuses four years ago -- but could not get any

endorsing senator marco rubio. now to the democrats. bernie sanders and hillary clinton shared the stage at a town hall last night. the big focus? who's a progressive. at sanders' watch party in des moines monday night -- his supporters were watching clinton's speech and booed loudly when she said she is a progressive. there are other issues, anderson, where i think she is superpac and takes $15 million from wall st. that's just not progressive. i said that i'm a progressive who likes to get things done. i was somewhat amused today that senator sanders has set himself up to be the gatekeeper on who's a progressive. sanders is favored to win new hampshire's primary next week. the time now is an arrest is made after a stabbing in waterloo. it happened yesterday

reihl street. one person was taken to the hospital. we don't know how they're doing -- that information is not being what led to the stabbing... but we do know one person was arrested. their name has not been released. this morning, a deputy is in the hospital after being shot. the deputy was serving papers in alabama last night. investigators say the homeowner shot him in the chest. the deputy fired back -- hitting the suspect. both were flown to the hospital. the deputy is in good condition right now. you don't see this everyday. a car on top of a roof. officers say somehow -- a car landed on top of a garage after a crash in california. rescue crews pulled one person out of the car -- and took them to the hospital. it's unclear what happened -- leading up to the crash. somehow -- a family survives this. their car flips on a busy

the car skidded on its roof and narrowly missed a truck before hitting another car which hit the median. a driver pulled over to find a baby had survived... with his parents upside down in the front seats. this week's storm left roads very icy in the midwest. take a look at this video out of south dakota. dashcam video from the highway patrol shows an s- u-v spinning out. part of i-29 in that state was shut down because of the snow, ice and wind. the numbers don't add up for one lottery player -- so he's going to court. five years after larry dawson won a nine-million dollar jackpot -- the webster city man is suing -- claiming his hot lotto jackpot should've been almost three times as big, had the previous one not been fixed. it's the first in what could be several lawsuits filed by players who claim they were ripped off by games allegedly rigged by eddie tipton, former security director of the multi-state lottery

"the iowa lottery believes that course and in all of this, it's our strong belief to protect the integrity and every lottery player in this state of iowa and will defend this litigation." dawson is asking for 10 million dollars plus interest. this morning, an indictment against the leader of the oregon standoff is sealed. he was indicted by a federal grand jury. authorities arrested 11 people last week -- charging them with conspiracy. they're accused of using intimidation to prevent federal officers from doing their work at a refuge in oregon. an explosion at a flower shop sparks a big fire in a small minnesota town. it happened about 25-miles southwest of mankato. the fire quickly spread through more than a half- dozen businesses on main street. it took firefighters about five hours to put it out.

continuing coverage -- a former iowa correctional officer who illegally used drugs on duty is goin to ison. admitted he ac inmates to use. he also sold and traded drugs with other correctional officers. today in washington, a hearing on capitol hill about the rising cost of prescription drugs. an embattled former c-e-o of a pharmaceutical company will testify. he's accused of price gouging. we believe the criminal case if intended to defraud anyone. and we want to try this case in the courtroom and not on the media. martin shkreli -- the former c-e-o became notorious after his company hiked the price of a drug by five-thousand percent. a convicted killer - and escaped

david sweat broke out of a new york prison last summer with fellow convict richard matt. it led to a massive manhunt. this week -- sweat was sentenced for the escape, but he was already serving a life sentence for murder. "i would like to apologize to felt the fear, and felt it necessary to leave their homes or community because of the escape. that was never my intent, and i deeply apologize for that your honor." richard matt was killed by police during the manhunt. just days before super bowl 50-- and we're getting a sense of how tight security will be. authorities say there is no credible security threat right now -- but are urging everyone to report anything suspicious. there'a command center enforcement agenies. the game
