the iowa state patrol says platini ndongala, ndickson mandiki and michka kabeya were the three people killed. they were all from the congo. the driver of a minivan lost control -- causing the crash with three other vehicles. authorities say ten people were inside the van at the time of the crash -- two of them were ejected. along with the three deaths -- three others were injured. an iowa man involved in a fatal crash pleads guilty. 26-year-old alexander engling pleading guilty to vehicular homicide and drunk driving charges. authorities say he lost control of his car and flipped it in holy last april. cook was ejected and killed. april fourth. fire crws rescue a mother and her two children from their burning home. it happened late last night in cedar falls at a mobile home park in the 25-hundred block of

corruption. lafontaine was found guilty last october. the obama administration announcing today they'll ask congress for nearly two billion dollars to help respond to the zika virus and help the u-s prepare for it. so far, 51 cases of zika have been confirmed in the united states--all but one coming into the country from travelers.. but it has hit central and south america hard--the world health organization has declared it a global health emergency. and as kwwl's brad hanson found out today, it's also affecting some right here in eastern iowa. brad joins us live now from the t-h media newsroom in dubuque with the latest. the center for disease control has advised travelers take caution when taking a trip to anywhere in central or south america and the caribbean. the virus, primarily spread by mosquito, is most dangerous to

a family files a lawsuit against flint, michigan amidst the city's water crisis. it's the first individual, non class action lawsuit brought against the city and state on water supply. the family says their two year-old daughter sophia has high levels of lead in her bloodstream. the tap water in flint was contaminated after the source was switched from detroit to the the flint river in 2014. sophia's father speaking on the doctor. it's just it's ah it's really putting parents in between a rock and hard spot here. you

one day after beating illlinois 77-65 and moving into sole possession of first place in the big ten...the iowa hawkeyes not only move up in the associated press colege basketball rankings. the hawks also get some first place votes. villanova is the new number one followed by maryland at number two. oklahoma falls from number one to number three.. the hawks which recieved 11 first place votes is ranked fourth while xavier rounds out the to ten. kansas is number six..viriginia is number seven.. michigan state is number eight..north carolina falls to nine..while west virginia is number ten. iowa state falls one spot to number fourteen..purdue is number eighteen...baylor is number 21...texas is 24th and wichita state rounds out the top 25. just three days after tweeting that his suspension would only last one game...it appears iowa state starting center jameel mckay will miss a second straight game. today at his weekly press conference cyclone head coach steve prohm said mckay would not play wednesday
