fraternity brothers in north dakota finding a way to take the annual freeze-a-thon rat memberssrace the cold,d, asking cars to pull over -- all to raise money for a child care center. and they did it in sub-zero wind chills and 40-mile- an-hour wind gusts. a highway 20 intersection in dubuque county could become safer. the d-o-t plans to improve the area along 20 and swiss valley road. that area has seen many crashes over the years. people living in the area say so the d-o-t plans to widen the lanes... "really haven't gotten too much input, some favorable some objections. it's both ways...it affects everybody, one way or another." the first phase of the project is set to start in 20-19 and will take aboo a year to finish. it could cost 26 mmllion dollars. coming up....

winds remain strong today... still from the northwest. they there is still some drifting going on and some blowing with visibilities below 2 miles at times. it is cold, too, with temps still in the single digits to mid teens and feeling much colder... wind chills are from 5 to 15 below zero. there won't be much two. we will stay cold this week and will see a few more rounds of snow showers. underway for the first in the nation presidential primary. as many as one in five likely voters...are undecided walking into the polls today. if donald trump and bernie sanders win ...as expected... all eyes will be on how strongly hillary clinton runs ... and who runs second in the gop. voters in a handful of towns, including in the famously first dixville notch, are the first to cast votes in new hampshire. under

less than 100 people can open polls at midnight and close once voters have cast their ballots. john kasich and bernie sanders came out on top for dixville notch's total of nine voters. meanwhile, former new york city mayor michael bloomberg says he's still considering a run for president this year. bloomberg telling the financial times he's considering all his options when it comes to the presidency....the first time he's spoke openly about a potential bid. the decision time could be soon. bloomberg admits he would need to start getting his name on ballots by early march to stage a serious campaign. a kwwl follow-up now: eastern iowa's most wanted animal is off the streets. william the goat escaped a research lab at the university of iowa about 10 days ago. the university says it found the animal monday afternoon -- near 1st avenue and auburn east lane. that's between coralville and north liberty. the university says william's in good shape. meanwhile--last year sets a record for shark attacks.

30 of those in florida -- including one where a waterloo woman helped save a relative. she was being bitten by a shark. she spent the rest of her vacation in a hospital. six people died in shark attacks last year. the previous world record was 88 attacks in 2000. a parachuter is recovering this afternoon-- after being rescued from being stuck on a power pole. a witness took these pictures you're seeing... the man was training and following beihind his squad-- when he drifted toward this power pole. a florida highway patrol trooper spotted him hanging and immediately called for help. the power was shut down as firefighters safely rescued the man. a mother in labor and a nervous father were rushing to the hospital -- when they got pulled over. by the time the alabama state trooper realized what was going on, it was time for him to take matters into his own hands... when she said it was coming... she said it was coming. the baby was delivered in the car with the help of the trooper and

woman's husband. a bishop in omaha says an intruder fired shots in his home --but he was able to scare the gunman away. ...by using a laundry basket. larry helm and his wife heard something downstairs, and when they went to check, someone starting shooting. so before the suspect could continue firing, the bishop did what he could to protect himself. he grabbed a laundry basket full of clothes and threw them at the shooter. at church, they compared his story to david and goliath... "he had a rock, i had a basket bed. no problem i understand.'" police were quick to respond...and are working to find the culprit. a florida man is facing assault charges after authorities say he threw an alligator through an open wendy's drive-thru window. authorities say this 23-year-old
