an iowa man is found guilty of helping his mother stab his wife to death. a jury convicting 40-year-old dustin jefferson of aiding and abetting first degree murder. his mother -- ginger jefferson -- is currently serving life in prison . this was the third attempt by the state to convict dustin following the murder in 2013. governor branstad spending time with students and teachers at one local high school - talking about specialized programing. kwwl's jessica hartman getting an inside look at waterloo west's culinary classroom witt the governor. the culinary classes are part of the districts career and technical education or c-t-e program. teachers telling branstad today - - the hands on program keeps students who might be at risk for dropping out engaged in learning. students got a chance to showcase their skills in the students "i was just going to tell you that i appreciate having this experieee."

senate passed a bill that would keep anyone under the age of 18 out of tanning booths. the house didn't take it up then, but a use committee did today, and they actually changed the age from 18 to 17. carrie miller is the proud owner of the hot spot tanning salon in downtown dubuque. she's also not a fan of proposed legislation to ban tanning for minors. but heeconcerns don't stem from the business side of things. (carrie miller, the hot spot owner) "it's not going to hurt me. it's going to hurt more for the prom times when girls are tanning and stuff like txat. i mean, it's not going to kill me." instead her concerns stem from health issues--whether it be the lack of melanin or tanning's use as a treatment for depression. "i"ido have some kks that comee in that have depression or severe acne, and the doctors recommend it for them." the center for disease control doesngt necessarily` agree--they say a base tan does little to protect your skin, and your better off getting your vitamin d from food. carrie miller takes

the incident happening at a restaurant in florida last year -- but 23-year-old joshua james is now charged. police say he grabbed the three- foot gator out of the back of his truck and tossed it through the window at a server. his parents however say it was just a harmless prank.
