let's switch gears to decision 2016 coverage -- two more republican candidates are now out of the race. new jersey governor chris christie telling his campaign staff he's dropping out. christie never seemed to get on any kind of roll -- placing in sixth in last night's primary -- earning just eight percent of the votes. he said last night he would go home and make a decision with his family -- which was ultimately made today -- to end his campaign. fellow candidate carly fiorina also dropping out -- posting the announcement on her facebook page. the former c-e-o of hewlett-packard earning just four percent in last night's new hampshire primary -- good for seventh place. she says she would like to continue to travel the country and fight for americans who refusj to settle for the way things currently are. the final numbers from the new hampshire primaries all in now. we first told you on last

o'clock newscast that trump and sanders won -- but let's take a look at the exact numbers. on the republican side -- it was donald trump picking up 35 percent of the votes. in somewhat of a surprise john kasich finishshng second withth nearly 16 perccnt -- a nice finish for the ohio governor. following him is iowa caucus winner -- ted cruz at just under 12 percent. jeb bush and marco coming in at four and five -- just under cruz at 11 and 10 percent, respectively on the democratic side -- it was bernie sanders overwhelmingly knocking off hillary clinton. the vermont senator -- sanders with 60 peecent of the votes . clinton failing to garner even 40 percent after narrowly beating out sanders in the iowa caucuses last week- kwwl political analyy chris larimer says he was surprised by "i think right now if you ask political observers, they would

shots fired in a police chase. des moines police say they were chasing the vehicle allegedly driven by 25-year-old austin allen. they say he then drove towards an officer who fired his weapon. allen was later taken inxo custody and charged with assault with a weapon on police and theft. nobody was injured in the shooting. allen was wanted out of west des moines and kansas for robbery and theft --including the car he heroin and prescription drug abuse - - its an issue that has been in the national spotlight recently - -and a reoccurring topic amongst presidential candidates. and it isn't skipping iowa - - kwwl's jessica hartman is on the rise in one eastern iowa city. in 2015-- there were roughly 300 heroin - - it is a growing problem on the streets of eastern iowa. and cedar rapids leaders are trying to bring light - - to problem that has continued to increase over the last decade. in most cases the addiction starts from an injury wherepain

later killed by authorities. both deputies were taken to the hospital --whereehey died from their injuries. a man accused of shooting and decapitaing his grandparents is now facing murder charges. oklahoma citytypolice say 20-year- old quinton laster spoke to a neighbor after the alleged crime -- leading to the neighbor contacting police. the couple operated a day care at the home and three children were found unharmed in the garage. police do not believe they witnessed the crime. those involved say it's all very confusing for them.
