potholes than people throughout the cedar valley. luckily for drivers -- waterloo and cedar falls crews are working to ensure drivers have a smooth and safe travel throughout the area. waterloo streets department started filling potholes today -- and will have several crews working from now until spring. drivers say the warmer weather has them traveling faster -- "i think one of the worst things steering wheel really tight. it's kind of rought, because everytime you take those same trips, you know you're going to have to change your route, or you have to remember on this one turn, look out." and right now -- priorities for cedar falls crews include clearing intake gates at intersections to avoid standing water. if there any bad potholes in your neighborhood -- you can call your public works deparmtment -- and report them. we've got you covered live in waterloo road crews were tied up

with a pretty big sink hole. a water main broke on river road between commercial street and ansborough avenue this morning - that water caused a big sink hole, which crews had to use truck loads of dirt to fill. waterloo water works say they think a fire hydrant may have been knocked over by a car - but they're not exactly sure what in continuing coverage... university of iowa students say a man, accused of video- taping women showering in a residence hall, was likely familiar with the building. 23-year-old robert hightower was arrested yesterday - he's not a student or staff member, but he's accused of peeping on women in the shower at burge hall. hightower is accused of committing the crime in burge hall monday night -- but some students tell us they saw him in (alexis wynn/student) "on sunday i was taking the trash bumped into each other, and he

some of the students we talked to say hightower made them feel uneasy. the university says the locks to the womens restrooms at burge hall have been changed. a 76-year-old woman dies two days after a fire at her home. cedar rapids police say karen jacobs died late tuesday night... she was taken to the university of iowa hospitals and clinics on monday after the fire in her home. her husband, rondald, died at scene on monday. police say the fire started on the couch in their home - firefighters say there can't find any working smoke alarms in their home. crews are working to celan up a fuel spill that flowed downstream into the coralville reservoir. the iowa dnr says a semi owned by cryotech de-icing technology rolled monday along interstae 380 just south of cedar rapids and leaked about 36 hundred gallons of de-icing

spilled and is flowing downstream into the coralville reservoir. the de-icer is bright green and can discolor the water. the dnr is monitoring the clean up at the site... a local sheriff's department gets a new k-9 deputy in the months after their k-9 unexpectedly dies. the winneshiek county sheriff's department's new dog is named k9 mccoy... last november, the department had to put down their former deputy -- k9 ricky he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. the money to buy k-9 mccoy came from betty mccoy - here mccoy is honoring her at her grave... betty was a waterloo woman who heard about ricky and donated the money for a new service dog - she died in january after a four-year- battle with cancer. in her memory the winneshiek county sheriff named the deputy after her. there may soon be some changes coming for drivers and cyclist in iowa. a bill was just approved by an iowa senate committee which effects how drivers will be able to pass

the road. kwwl's kristin rogers spent some time at a local bike shop in cedar rapids today, kristin what do they think about this? they told me it's a good thing. one of the owners of goldfinch cyclery said he thinks this bill will make the state better and get more people on bikes. the approved bill would require drivers passing cyclist in the vehicle. they must pass to the left in an adjacent lane or on the opposite side of the road. then, drivers must wait until they have safely cleared the cyclist before they get back over to the right. the owner at goldfinch cyclery (cg: thaddeus walters/ owner at goldfinch cyclery) "i the roads just being close to

attend scalia's funeral. four of the last seven funerals for a supreme court justice have had either a president or vide president in attendance. the duchess of cambridge is guest editing the huffington post - trying to remove the stigmas attached to medical issues. kate middleton said today that she and prince william would not hesitate to seek help if they thought their children needed it. her comments come during a start of a campaign called 'young minds matter', which raises awareness around mental health and children. the duchess sat down with children and mental health campaigners and spent the day working with the huffington post staff from a temporary newsroom set up in her home. astronaut scott kelly is almost done with his yearlong stay aboard the international space station... but before he goes...he's sharing some amazing views of the world. check out these photos kelly posted tuesday on his twitter page. the pictures show a snow-covered region... green and blue seas... even a snow-covered region... green
