cameras and suspicious activity since monday. an eastern iowa elementary school principal is facing owi charges tonight. amber dietz, the principal at kingsley elementary school in waterloo was arrested friday on the corner of hillcrest and ridgeway in black hawk county. according to a criminal complaint, the 40 year old dietz had a blood alcohol level of .159, nearly twice the legal limit. the arresting officer reported dietz smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking. a spokesperson for the waterloo school system tells us dietz is not on the job, and a member of the school leadership team is running kingsley elementary on a day to day basis. for more information be sure to check out our website - kwwl dot com. snow may actually begin to melt during this upcoming warm up. let's go to storm track seven chief meteorologist mark schnackenberg now who's tracking it all. from the kwwl stormtrack 7 weather team. see the screen information from the kwwl stormtrack 7 weather team: high temperatures through early

teenager. 52-year-old robyn merchant is facing a federal offense of providing a firearm to a prohibited person. according to the public information officer, the reason merchant is being charged federally is because she knowingly provided a gun to a person who was on illegal drugs. police say emma redlinger, of vinton, was accidently shot in the head last year after her friend mishandled that gun. investigators determining the shooting last february was unintentional. the family says they will not be making a statement at this time. the 76-year-old wife of the man who died in a house fire is now dead. karen jacobs died from her injuries in the hospital yesterday. jacobs sustained her injuries in a house fire monday morning. her husband, ronald jacobs, was pronounced dead at the scene. an investigation found the fire started in the living room but the cause of the fire is unknown due to the amount of damage in the room.

embezzled more than one million dollars was sentenced to more than three years in prison. heidi wagler from wayland, who worked for country bancorporation, embezzled the money over a ten year span - starting in 2004. wagler stole the money when she was in charge of the company's payroll - she would pay herself and her husband money they weren't entitled to. crews are working to clean up a fuel spill that made it's way downstream into the coralville reservoir. the iowa dnr says a semi owned by cryotech de-icing technology rolled monday along interstate 380 just south of cedar rapids and leaked about 36 hundred gallons of de-icing fluid and 50 gallons of gasoline which is flowing downstream into the coralville reservoir. the de-icer is bright green and can discolor the water. booms were placed in the creek on tuesday to recover the deisel fuel. we are told the truck will be removed on friday. a new number is rising at an iowa university but it's not one

facult resignations at the university of iowa jumped 36 percent last year compared to the previous year. according to a top official, salary is often the reason people leave. the area hit most by resignations - the college of medicine. in order to attract and keep faculty - the university is seeking millions more in state dollars. cycling on the roadway may soon become safer for iowans. a bill was just approved by an iowa senate committee which effects how drivers will be able the road. kwwl's kristin rogers spent some kristin? one of the owners of goldfinch cyclery told me he has had close calls riding on the roads before, he says this bill will make the for many cyclist riding on the roadway can be scary when owner at goldfinch cyclery) "there's been a couple times where i've been a
