with. one local city finding a solution to a nearly decade old problem. kwwl's jessica hartman gives us a look at waterloo's plans to revitalize logan plaza. thanks to a new partnership between the city of waterloo and ben stroh of north crossing - a local investment group - - the run located a long busy highway 63 - - and across from allen hospital - - logan plaza have left the complex for newer spaces. leaving - thousands of square feet empty. resident "yes, it is an eye sore. it's not a lot of to see this area build up more. developer ben stroh will be getting one million each year for the next 8 years in tif funding from the city of waterloo. in return waterloo will receive 30-40 acres of land behind the plaza for future development. new at ten -- authorities arrest a woman accused of arson and going armed with intent. 20-year-old ashley welch arrested on a black hawk county warrant. she was found at the prairie view residential care facility in fayette. welch is also charged with willful injury causing bodily injury. she was transferred to the black hawk county jail -- where bond. a man turns himself in -- months after being involved in a deadly hit-and-run. police say 37- year-old ronald hauser turned himself in tuesday. he's charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death -- and drunk driving. officers found the body of 21- year-old daulton holly in west

they say he was struck by a vehicle. holly was from tennessee -- no word on why he was here in iowa. a man is facing murder charges after allegedly stabbing another man to death, 50-year-old vernon mace died early this morning after being treated for multiple stab wounds in sioux city. police say they have arrested a suspect and plan to charge him with second-degree murder. university of iowa students say a man, accused of video-taping women showering in a residence hall has been in the building before. police arresting 23-year-old robert hightower yesterday - he is not a student or staff member. hightower is accused of committing the crime in burge hall monday night -- but some students say they also saw him in the building the night before (alexis wynn/student) "on sunday i was taking the trash out, and we had turned around kept quiet 'cause i felt uncomfortable in that situation."

hightower made them feel uneasy. the university says the locks to the womens restrooms at burge hall have since been changed. a local homeless shelter is looking for help as they continue to battle bedbugs. the hope house in dubuque has been dealing with the parasite for the past two years. kwwl's brad hanson got a chance to speak with some of the workers today about the problem. and brad, it seems like there yeah, it seems that a change in furniture would make a huge difference. it would provide some peace of mind for many who already are struggling so hard to find it. tom johnson has been at years--helping to provide food and shelter for many down on their luck. but over the past couple of years, a new fight has and not just his bed--the parasitic insects finding homes all over the

weather -- some drivers are traveling faster -- giving them less time to respond to those pot holes. luckily for them -- crews are working to make thinger safer for drivers and their cars. waterloo streets department started filling potholes today -- and will have several crews working from now until spring. but drivers say sometimes it's just tough to avoid them.
