a nasal spray as cook mentioned, narcan literally zaps away an opiate high if passed in the iowa legislature, use narcan. "as you can see, a fine mist comes out of here" cook says they'd most likely usee the nasal spray or epi- pen version of narcan, though it is commonly interjected intraveneously--tha t requires more training. cook says this bill comes at a good time, considering the rise in heroin overdoses in eastern ifs and or buts about it we hear the rise in eastern iowa, its something we have to watch out for" we talked to local police about their thoughts on the bill. one officer says ----as long as they get proper training -- it wouldn't be a bad tool to have. but he says medical services typically y rrive at the same time as police -- so it might be unnecesessary.

suspect who led police on a wild car chase is dead after a roadside shoot- out with officers. more than a ddzen troopers chased the suspect. sheriff's detectives say the man fatally shot his estranged girlfriend at the nursing home where she worked early this morning. the suspect then fled -- and shot attpolice before he was stopped with spike strips. he then started shooting at officers -- when he was shot -- and then died on scene. nobody else was hurt. the nursing hime calls the incident a tragic caseeof domestic violence. thousands of mourners attended the funeral for supreme court justice antonin scalia today in washington, d.c. reverend scalia remembered his father as a man who looed god, his country, and his family. he generated several laughs during remarks -- including excusing his fathr for forgetting his children's names and when the justice accidentally ended up in his confessional line. he was the father that god gave us for the great adventure of family life. justice scalia died of a heart

here's a look at the storm tracks even future track. starting this evening, the model is doing a pretty good job with the increasing clouds across the region. as we go through the overnight, thoseeclouds will continue to thicken up. temperatures will only drop to the upper 20s and low 30s, which is well above average. by tomorrowowmorning, we will start to see the chance for snow, maybe a little mix track through the area. as this system moves closer, it will run into drier and and it will also be weakening, so anywhere that sees that chance for the accumulation, if any at all. but there may be a few slick spots out there. once that system passes by tomorrow we will have a mostly cloudy sky to partly cloudy sky throughout the afternoon and evening, before we see a few more breaks in the clouds by monday. here's the storm track 7 forecast

people across the area took advantage of the warm weather and spent the day outside. iowa city was full of bbers, shoppers, and motorized scooters for the first time since fall. many of them told us they couldn't wait to get outside after being stuck inside all winter long. this is noy my first winter in really nice to wake up this as and how warm." a lot of people in the downtown area say they hoped to spend the entire day outside -- while walking to their destinations -- instead of driving. it was a largg turnout for the annual dubuque on ice brewfest. the event held at the mystique ice community cnter -- right on the ice rink. nearly 50 breweries from the area and around the country -- along with wine vendors took part in it. many people tried different craft beers. there was also live music and competitions.
