he says a government of checks and balances will only work when people are willing to work together for the common good. the time now is today, a man accused of killing six people will bin court. murder charges today. authorities say he shot eight people randomly at an apartment complex, car dealership and restaurant. six died and two others -- including a 14-year-old -- were seriously hurt. dalton is an uber driver with no criminal record. the motive right now is a mystery to investigators. this guy was not on anybody's radar for any reason. he didn't have a lengthy criminal history, he wasn't a known troublemaker, and yet here he is having shot eight people and killed six. police say there's no apparent connection between him -- or the

hundreds of p%ople come togfther to remember the victims of saturday's dadly shooting spree.. a vigil was held at a church in kalamazoo. a second vigil was held at a high school for a student and shooting. new this morning: annther tragedy. a family of six x ound dead -- and carbon monoxide is most likely the reason. a relative found the bodies of a couple and ththir four childrrn at a home outside detroit. that neighborhood lost power on friday night. it appeared the family was using a generator. "no matter how long, no matter how many investigations you conduct seeing young children, an entirereamily wiped out is just a very very sad thing." the children were two, four, seven and nine years old. a natural gas explosion levels a new home in an oklahoma

four other homes were damaged. vestigators say someone wenen to the home to check its sprinkler system. when he opened the door, he smelled gas and turned to leave. he made it about five steps before the home exploded. luckily, , e was not hurt. insulation covers the ground -- along with glass. no one was injured after a bus catches fire on the road in illinois. passengers say they smelled rubber from the start of their trip in chicago. at one point -- they heard a loud pop -- and then a big explosion. when i heard the fir boom i then the bus blew up and there was fire coming from everywhere. everyone was able to get off the bus in time. into what caused the fire. iowa city firefighters are trying to figure out what caused a duplex fire. that fire happened on little creek lane sunday morning. they

about 20 minutes. no one was hurt -- but the fire rescue crews work for hours to free a driver stuck in a trrck. a three car crash sent a truck over the side of a california interstate. the truck driver got trapped. the man was pulled out -- and lifted up... he was taken to the hospital. right now, the pope's push for forgiveness focuses on --- capital punishment. $& pope francis is calling for a one- yeye moratoriummon the death penalty. he's also throwing his support behind a conference set to begin today. he hopes that will spark a conversation that ultimately -- brings an end to capital punishment. later today, bill cosby's wife will answer questions under oath. cosby's attorneysare still fighting to stop it. the cass focuses on ght women who areesuing cosby for defamation. they say he called them liars --

they did it -- and also raised money to battle cananer. boy scouts from northeastern iowa are aiming high. 34 scouts from the tri-state area are now eagle scouts. they must earn 21 merit badges first. they also have to create a service project -- all before turning 18. "i'm pretty happy about it, my i did when i was a scout, i earned my eagle scout about a week before i turned 18, he earned his about a year ann three months before he turned 18." they say this is more than just an award -- since they learned several life skills. they will appreciate this. a bald eagle is being released back into the wild. a big crowd d athered in pootland to see her limp, hop and then take off. the eagle was trying to snag a duck caught in a fishing line -- when she got stuck herself.
