u.s. marshals today- she joins us now with the latest and amanda they have received a lot of tips throughout eastern iowa. i asked them where these tips are leading them to exactly...but because of the investigation they could not say at this time. but they did say this- their number one priority is to find kevin edwards. an unthinkable and heartless crime.. a 9 year old boylured from a park to aaalley where investstgators say he was shot and killed execution style.. former chicago police leader - calls it a crime that assassination of a 9-year-old child as a gang retaliation to get back at his father" tyshawn's father denies being involved in a gang but police strongly believe it was gang retaliation. three men ae allegedly responsible. suspects have been arrested... but one is still out there..and he may be close. kevin edwards, a convicted and dangerrus felon...has multiple connections here in eastern iowa. now the u.s marshals services

after spreading the word that this man, kevin edwards might be here in easternrniowa. d it's billboards like this one off of university avenue- that help... u.s. marshals say they are going through a ton of information- coming from all parts of eastern iowa. i pushed for specifics...but was told info. is coming from all areas of kwwl's demographic.. ..and they hope it continues- so they can find edwards and bring justice for tyshawn lee. it's important to know this pass weekend, the search for edwards led authorities to a home in the 400 block of randall street in waterloo. now...they did not find him there...however they did find and arrest a man wanted in texas for an unrelated theft charge there.. and they say the search for edwards continues..

try to prove alexander fazzino killed his wife emily in their home. the defense looks to show that she gave into her addiction to prescripton medicine and drown herself in the bathtub. it wasasjanuary 29, 2012 when police were called to this home in boone--the home of the unresponsive, according to court his wife was addicted to prescription medication, and she tried to drown herself in the bathtub. but the coroner's report caused police to question that--it showing emily suffered from trauma to the head, including a contusion on her forehead. the official cause of death was listed as undetermined. emily had also served alexander with divorce papers just a week prior. they arrested alexander and charged him with first degree murder. hehelater bonded out for half a million dollars. emily fazzino is the daughter of richard beckwith, the chairman of the board for fareway stores. the trial, originally slated for boone county, now taking place in winneshiek county, in an effort to

nearly 100 people today summoned to the courthouse for jury duty. most of the potential jurors knew little about the case, other than that the trial was being moved here. we've got you covered live in opening statements will start tomorrow morning at nine a-m a man is arrested after three store employees sttp him from stealing. according to our coverage partners at the t-h media, cory johnson was arrested at the super stop 3 in dubuque sunday night. johnson tried to steal a 30 pack of beer and a carton of cigarettes while holding a knife. when johnson ran, three employees chased him down and tackled him. johnson is charged with first-degree robbery. police are linking a man killed by officers in a hotel lobby to a january homicide. des moines police say the i-d-c-i

blood found in the january homicide matched the blood fouu in the hotel shooting. officers found the body of norma mcneeley inside her home on january 24. urbandale police fatally shot ali yahia in a holiday inn lobby on february 13. detectives say yahia is the only suspect in the mcneeley homicide case. an iowa man is behind barssfter using counterfeit money. police say this man is accused of using counterfeit bills at a number of places since august. he would use the fake money and give the bills to others - then run away when confronted about it. he's charged with eight counts forgery and other crimes. des moines officials are re- examining a little- used city rule that could eliminate nearly two thousand home day cares. the city rule limits home day cares to@six children - however,

if city officials enforce the current six-child limit, about 1,800 of the approved 4,700 home day care slots in des moines will be eliminated. everyone is safe following an overnight fire in iowa city. firefighters went to 11 arthur street just after two- thirty this morning they saw fire coming from a second story window. everyone got out of the apartment on their own -- they're now being helped by the red cross. the fire caused about 10-thousand dollars in damage. the cause is still being investigated. cedar rapids firefighters rescued a man trapped in an apartment fire this morning. it happened in the 200 block of jacolyn drive south-west around nine-fifteen. three upper units were impacted by the fire. the only way out for the trapped man was through a second floor window. a cedar rapids public information officer tells us firefighter knocked down flames on the deck and were able to get the man out of the apartment. he was taken to the hospital for

there is a potential change in next years school calender being discussed at a cedar rapids school board meeting that could impact when kids get off school. originally it was suggested students have a late start eery monday to make room for teachers to have professional development. the cedar rapids school board secretary tells us they are now instead looking at having early dismissels every friday. a public hearing is being g eld to discuss the calender at tonight's meeting. kwwl's kristin rogers is at the tonight at ten. in case you missed it this weekend - the decorahheagle laid her second egg. lets take a live look at the eagles nest. cording to the raptor resource project facebook page, the second egg was laid sunday night aa7:46 p.m. many of us enjoy watching the decorah eagle cam.. now the iowa department of natural resources is asking eagle lovers to actually get

its a project aimed at finding volunteers to help monitor the hundreds of eagles nest around olivia mancino "the number of eagles nests has skyrocketed during the last two decades...and now the dnr says they need help keeping an pairs of eagles reside in iowa--and the population keeps growing. just recently, thousands watched as tred in he popular decorah eagles laid their second egg. tim thompson dnn wildlife biologist "thhfirst thing hat will probably draw your attention is wow, that's a big nest up there" that's tim thompson -- a d-n-r wildlife biologist. his job requires him to cover more than 35 thousand acres of land its not an easy job -- just think about how many animals actually reside in those acres. that's why the d-n-r is reaching out to the public to help them monitor eagles. tim thompson "it helps if the public..you know they're that make us aware there
