few places trying to clear out, but more clouds will track in. there may the east. we will have mainly cloudy skies with highs in the 40s across the viewing area. more normal temps return for the rest of the week along with some breezy conditions for a couple of days. i'll have the forecast for you in a few minutes. an eastern iowa man is arrested after an ongoing drug investigation. police say they arrested 19-year- old keyon garner-- on west ninth street in waterloo officers found marijuana --packaged for sale. he's now facing charges. continuing coverage... today, jury selection finished and opening statements have started in a murder trial moved to eastern iowa. alexander fazzino is charged with first degree murder in the death of his wife, emily. her body was found in their home in boone in 2012. her grandfather founded the fareway stores grocery chain.

his wife was unresponsive. he told them he believed emily was trying to kill herself, and that she was addicted to prescription drugs. police investigated it as a homicide -- after the autopsy showed she suffered head trauma. the high profile case was moved to winneshiek county and is expected to take up to three weeks. five people are dead after a man opens fire on his family members. it happened at a home in phoenix. police say the gunman is dead. a child also died. when police got to the home, the man was shooting at them... the house was also on fire. no officers were hurt. now to the latest on the michigan saturday night. a teenager who was shot is still clinging to life, as police try to figure out a ron mott has more. is one of two survivors here in this stunned community tries to figure out what would drive someone to target unsuspecting people like her. kalamazoo. at this point -- police still don't have a motive. the minnesota governor is stepping in -- there's controversy over a vanity license plate. this is the plate. the photo was posted on social media, prompting comment and criticism from hundreds. the picture also got the attention of the minnesota governor, who ordered the state department of public safety to revoke the plate. local activists say they're glad the plate is being pulled... "it's been overwhelmingly saying, 'this is wrong.' this is was issued in june of last year. decision 2016...the next big day for the republican race to the white house is today. gop candidates are vying for votes in the nevada caucus today.

state... but second place is up for grabs. the democratic caucus was held saturday -- hillary clinton won. last night-- a donald trump campaign rally got somewhat heated , as several protesters made their voices known throughout the night. but one protester got trump's attention.-- causing him to jab at him while he was escorted out... everything else, when we're talking. and you're walking out, out like, big high fives, smiling, laughing. i'd like to punch him in the face, i'll tell you." trump also took jabs at ted cruz.. once again calling him a liar and saying there's something wrong with him. the president delivered a special report this morning with plans to shut down guantanamo bay. obama had pledged to close the facility at the u-s naval base call for sending prisoners who have been cleared for transfer back home. the remaining prisoners will be

held in maximum-security prisons. but the white house won't name what prisons those are... congress banned these transfers to the u-s in 2011. the plan will also cite the possibility of sending some prisoners overseas for prosecution and trial. we haven't seen him a lot in front of the public since he took the job... but today, university of iowa president bruce harreld is expected to lead a town hall meeting. it's for the campus community. it'll be from four until six this evening in the pomerantz center. the university community is encouraged to come -- there will be time for questions iowans may be paying more in taxes this year....to help pay for schools. lawmakers are debating over a process called coupling. it lets state tax deductions mirror federal deductions. if the state stops allowing the breaks...it would mean about 95- million dollars for the state. as teachers, farmers, and small business owners would all be laura...2105 for my farm family alone, it's like asking us to

continuing coverage of our top story -- right now, a mental health patient is in police custody in allegedly breaking out of covenant medical center by stealing an ambulance. kwwl's lauren moss has been following the developments and is live from covenant. lauren, it was a tense morning. ally -- it lasted about an hour -- but as you said -- it was tense. a neighborhood was on edge as it all unfolded. this is what we know right now: police say joshua rohner, a mental health patient- stole an ambulance and took off from covenant medical center around 7:30 this morning. about an hour later- he was found walking down lindner drive --

investigators say he had ditched the ambulance -- and was looking for an unlocked car or truck. we spoke to a neighbor who said he saw police arrest the man in "i looked out the window and there was about four or five squad cars out here and they had him down on the ground, they were going to kill him or something." that man and other witnesses say rohner was trying to break into this truck when he was caught. i spoke to someone at the hospital who says the ambulance has been recovered and has minor damage. the hospital garage is also damaged. at this point, we still have many questions about what happened this morning. here's one -- how was he able to get the keys to the ambulance in the first place? i will be on top of this story throughout the day..and will keep you updated as more information becomes avaliable. we've got you covered live in waterloo lauren moss kwwl news thanks lauren. waterloo columbus -- which is

(darin adams, father)"josephine was born at 8:08 a.m. on december 9th 2015." beautiful, baby girl. a miracle for her fight to just be "mommy" "but you know she has never changed josephine's diaper. she has never breast-fed, josephine was born. "around 6:30 in the morning my while laura was pregnant she developed gallstones...not uncommon in pregnancy. but that morning, something was seriously wrong. (dr.lillian erdahl, laura's surgical team) "gallstone you know it can it can doeverything from never give you any problems and block the drainage of the bile." at the time of this interview, due to laura's but she's motivated....just motivated to just be a mommy to baby josephine. "and depending how long the recovery is you know who knows crawl. all those things that are important. she may miss out on."

family has been set up to pay than 47 thousand dollars...and for that, laura's husband is grateful. but for now, laura wants other mothers to learn from her situation. the middle 30s to the low 40s this afternoon with southerly winds taking over. they are mostly 5 to 10 mph with a few areas up to 15 at times. we have but more clouds will track in. there may still be a stray shower tracking through, but the main show will stay to the east. we will have mainly cloudy skies with highs in the 40s across the viewing area. more normal temps return for the rest of the week along with some breezy conditions for a couple of days. i'll have the forecast for you in a few minutes. a group of parents at linn mar high school in marion -- is upset. they say their children have been verbally and physically abused by the assistant football coach. in a school board meeting, people spoke out for - and against - the coaching staff.... accusations range from verbal abuse, to making players pick up glass with their bare hands. despite all of the stories --not everyone believes it. player after player took to the mic defending the coach... "it's just shocking to me because i've been here and i've

the allegations have been the linn-mar principal, no abuse was found. but some parents aren't satisfied...and that's why they want the state board to come in and investigate. continuing coverage... dangerous and unpredictable. that's the description of a murder suspect who may be in eastern iowa. kevin edwards is wanted in a chicago murder. chicago police believe he killed this boy - - 9 year old tyshawn lee in november in a gang-related shooting. they say edwards and two other men lured the boy into an alley -- where they shot and killed him. u-s marshals searched this home on randall street in waterloo over the weekend. it's one of several waterloo homes that could be connected to edwards. he also has known connections throughout eastern iowa. authorities did not find edwards but they did arrest this man texas.

edwards. a 97-year-old woman is being evicted from the home she's lived in for more than half of her life. the california woman says her former landlord was a close friend and promised she could stay in the home for the rest of her life. but now the new landlord is serving an eviction notice and giving her, and her roommate, 60 days to find a new place to call home... "no, i love this old house. look at all this nice stuff." the new landlord - a distant relative of the woman's friend - says they were "unaware" of the lifetime agreement. a farmer's nightmare becomes very real. a sinkhole opens up right in the middle of a field. authorities say beneath the surface in texas -- is a form of rock that can dissolve easily -- so these types of sink holes can happen. in fact -- a similar one popped up six years ago -- which is now about 20 feet wide. an unusal rescue over the weekend off the coast of jacksonville, florida two off duty sheriff's deputies

that was tangled in a crab trap line. the officers were about two miles off shore when they spotted the 9-foot turtle in distress. the rope was looped around the turtle's neck and a buoy was still attached to the trap - tightening every time the turtle tried to dive. one of the deputies was able to untangle the trap while keeping coming up ... a security guard is getting a lot of attention because he resembles a big name celeb... and stormtrack seven meteorologist will be back with your storm track seven day forecast when we return...
