room at covenant hospital around 7:30 this morning and was later. kwwl's lauren moss has been looking into this- she joins us now with the latest developments.. amanda, the search only lasted about an hour -- but it was tense. a neighborhood was on edge and a nearby school also went into lockdown... and everyone was wondering how a patient...could actually steal ambulance? police say the patient is 36 year old joshua rohner. as soon as he left the emergency room and took the ambulance by crashing through the garage..the search was on. police say he was found here walking down lind-ner drive -- just blocks away from the hospital. we spoke to a neighbor who said he saw the man trying to find an unlocked car... "i looked out the window and there was about four or five squad cars out here and they

they were going to kill him or something." the hospital's garage also was damaged- when we were on scene earlier this afternoon it looked like a crew was working on it. the main question tonight is obviously how in the world...a patient was able to get the keys and get in the ambulance in the first place. and i asked.... but now, i want to mention rohner has not been charged with anything at this time. his father reached out to kwwl earlier this afternoon...hear what he says about this incident in the story im working on coming up at 6.. we've got you covered, lauren moss kwwl news. waterloo columbus -- which is near covenant -- went into lockdown once the school learned what was going on. that lockdown was lifted after rohner was caught. what seems to be a billing snafu...is going to cost the city of

the public works department is asking for an extra 285-thousand dollars. most of it for street lighting. an audit shows allient energy discovered it failed to bill dubuque for all the city's street lights. city leaders say the system is complicated. "they own some lights, we own some lights, they own some poles and lights -- it's a very complicated system...so they're in the process of changing all their information." of course...the bills still must get paid! but the mix-up means the city will paid! but the mix-up means the city will have to pay 13- thousand dollars more per month starting july. the city manager says there's cushion in the budget to pay for the lights without affecting other areas. decision 2016... another test for republican politicalcandidates today - the

the class with, you know, news people get the virus through mosquito bites. the department of public health says they're less concerned about the virus spreading in iowa - and more so about individual cases. but most students aren't worried. --out the motive of an uber driver accused of going on a shooting spree while working. a 14-year-old girl he allegedly shot is still alive, but in very serious condition. she was shot in a cracker barrell parking lot - doctors at the hospital actually pronounced her dead... but as doctors were preparing her for organ donation - she squeezed her mother's hand. the verdict comes down for a woman who cut an unborn baby out of a woman's woman... a colorado jury determined dylen lane is guilty of seven counts of counts - including attempted first degree murder. lane lured a pregnant woman to her house with an ad on craigslist before she committed the crime. she'll be sentenced in april. a 16-year-old swedish girl is freed from isis captivity,

experts. the girl was rescued from the isis-controled city of mosul. experts say she was lured from a city in sweden by an isis member. she's currently still in iraq -- where iraqi officials say she is being quote "provided the care afforded to her under international law." scientists now know what is causing deadly problems with airbags that prompted a massive worldwide recall. for years, investigators haven't been able to find out what the problem with takata airbags was due to multiple factors - including moisture and high humidity. those airbags have caused 10 deaths and 139 injuries worldwide. experts are expected to release their information this afternoon. check your candy - snickers, milky way minis and mars bars are getting recalled after plastic is found in the chocolate. the candy subject to recall were produced in germany... the best before date is between june 19th
