fire crews respond to an iowa city home last night -- after spotting smoke -- coming from a roof. the iowa city fire department says it started in the attic. no one was hurt -- but the seven people living there were forced to leave. fire crews believe the damage is moderate -- but it's repairable. the cause of the fire is still moments ago -- a kwwl viewer sent us these photos of a rollover on highway 20 -- traveling east -- at the alden-buckeye exit. they say it stopp traffic for nearly ten minutes -- and saw a person who was taken to a hospital. we will continue to investigate into this crash -- and update you as more information becomes available. an iowa man is safe -- after he

tank. officers say it happened at feldmeier equipment in shell rock friday morning. they say joe franzen was concious and breathing when crews removed the tank. we reached out to his family -- and they say he's doing well and is recovering nicely. the accident remains under investigation. deere and company says it plans to lay off 100 workers at two iowa factories. layoffs start april first and include 80 workers in davenport and 20 in dubuque. both factories are part of the company's construction and forestry division. the company says the layoffs are due to the lack of demand for some of its products. some iowa lawmakers are hoping to legalize gun suppressors with a bill that's making its way through the legislature. kwwl's shirley descorbeth joins us live in dubuque with the latest. shirley? mac...the iowa house of representatives passed a bill to make gun suppressors legal. they want this to protect the hearing of shooters. here at tri-state

temperatures were the highest they've been in a long time. most restuarants and bars downtown opened their outdoor patio areas for the first time this year. university of iowa students studied on the old capitol lawn while others played catch near residence halls. some say this is the kind of day they've been waiting for all year.
