22 year old rashon montgomery was last seen friday night when he left work at the isle casino in waterloo. he has diminished mental capacity and autism. kwwl's lauren moss speaking with his family today- she joins us now with the latest in downtown waterloo. ron, the family told me they cant eat they cant sleep...they just want to know where rashon is. he has autism...so they are worried he may have put himself in a so tonight they are asking for montgomeryhas worked at the isleecasino for three years. he gets picked up after comeeome since. it's something that has his close-knit family worried care about eating..i can't eat because i don't know if my child is eating or if he's okay...it just is not a good feeling at all. i don't wish this on anybody." they say this ii't like

many of them talking about how much they saw emily struggle with her addiction to prescription medication. alex's aunt, mary ann, testifying that they wanted to have an intervention for emily, especially after she says emily's complexion changed, and she looked gray. but she says emily didn't want the help. (mary ann fazzino, alex's aunt) "you can't sit back and do nohing when somebody's doing that. i don't care. i risked my rrlationship wwh her to tell her that i wanted her to her to be well." mary ann also testifying that she saw emily struggle to get up the stairs in her house just days before she ied. & the defense illuded to this strategy in their opening statements--they wanted to show emily wasn't a recovering addict, but still struggled with many of those symptoms and issues. the state, meanwhile, hammering on the fact that fazzino

kansas city area, and they only would see her maybe once or twice a month. we've got you covered live hhre in decorahhbrad hanson...kwwl news. testimony is slated to begin again tomorrow morning at 8:30. cities across the country are seeing a drop in violent crime, inclling some right here in eastern iowa. dubuque saw the biggest decrease in violent crime in the country. that's according to data from the fbi. kwwl's shirley descorbeth is live from the t-h media newsroom in dubuque. shirley...you spoke with dubuque police about that data. and they say...they have concerns. that's right... police tell me despite the good news... the city saw its highest number of homicides and shots fired in 20-15. that year -- isn't included in the report. and for the year ahead -- they're

the study sayay violent crimims such as murder, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault -- have dropped the most in dubuque. that's from the years 20-10 to 2014. dubuque police say there were some issues in how they reported aggravated assaults to the fbi 20-10. and that's why stats from the report should be taken lightly. "we did see some decreases in but again, i'm not sure that ranking is warranted or backed by legitimate data." now, theeyear 20- 15 is not analyzed by the report. dubuque saw an increase in crime that year -- 33 confirmed shots fired and five murders. as for this year -- so far there have not been any confiimed shots fired of a criminal intent. but there was that one incident involving a child, which was an accident.

th mededa news room in another city in the state that tops the list is ames. the list is ames. it came in as the number two in the nation where crime has decreased thth most. authorities continue to look for the two men who escaped from an iowa correction center. during routine counts saturday night, workers at the newton correctional release center noticed two missing inmates. thessare the two men that are missing. both men are serving drug charges. the iowa council president issued a statement today - saying the reason the men escaped, was due to the critically low staff numbers at the facility. the president also said jessy foley has escaped a correctional facility before. decision 2016... iowa's governor is praising chris christie's recent endorsement of donald trump. during his weekly press conference today, branstad says christie's move was pure strategy. endorsement in the near future. i think we'll get some indication as to how things are going when you have all these folks that are going to v vte on super tuesday." ahead of the iowa caucuses, branstad spoke out against ted cruz telling caucus voters that cruz should be defeated. branstad also announcing that iowa is now generating over 31 perceet of its enerery from wind. according to the u. s. energy information administration, iowa is now the first and only state to have crossed the 30 percent mark. branstad says he's pro of iowa's leadershiiin wind energy and is hoping to push that number up to 40 in five years.

working to bring tiny houses to the community. if you haven't heard of the tiny house mmvement- we're e lking about living in homes around 500 square feet or at times smaller. it's becoming popular among people who wish to live a simple life--be energy efficent, or even vave money. kwwl's kristin rogers spoke with members of that group as well as the city today. kristin the community development director with the cit told me as far as uilding codes and zoning, a tiny house community could actually be built in cedar rapids today. so the group is now working to find a develop and the finances to make it happen. tiny houses--they're often times energy effecient, "members of the work group believe tiny houses would provide housing for a diverse council member) "for those want a lesser carbon footprint, for those who are retiring, for those who say you know life is about experience not about uff, i belieee it fills a ap weinacht formed the tiny house work group in effort to bring this vision to life.
