found at the casey's off university avenue in waterloo. he had been missing since friday -- and his family was very worried. he's now back with them. today is the biggest one day grab of delegates yet in the race for the white house. it's super tuesday. tracie potts tells us texas is the big prize - an important one for ted cruz. it's the only state where donald trump isn't expected to win. "we have get out and vote." donald trump... hoping to build on his frontrunner status today... with his closest challengers aiming to collect enough delegates to remain compeititive. "a vote for donald trump tomorrow is literally a vote for hillary clinton." for ted cruz, that means winning his home state, texas: "what we will see, i believe, is donald trump and me coming out both with a significant chunk of delegates and everyone else far behind." there could be trouble for trump this super tuesday: buzzfeed reports there's a secret

after christie had dropped out. and it obviously, it changed the going when you have all these folks that are going to vote on super tuesday." ahead of the iowa caucuses, branstad spoke out against ted cruz. cruz won the caucuses -- which happened a month ago today. governor branstad is also talking wind power. he says iowa is now generating more than 31 percent of its energy from wind. the federal government says iowa is the first and only state to the govenor says he's proud of iowa's leadership in wind energy and is hoping to push that number up to 40 in five years. this morning at the white house, a special meeting between the

the focus is the standoff over a supreme court nominee. the president plans to nominate someone to replace the late justice scalia. republicans -- including senator grassley -- who chairs the committee that considers court appointments -- want that decision to be up to the next president. the senate majority and minority leaders will also be at today's meeting. we've been told they'll also talk about the drug problem in this country. senator grassley's office says more than 47- thousand americans died from overdoses in 2014 -- an all-time high. his office says that's more deaths than from car crashes or gun violence. new this morning... new records say a university of iowa public safety director did not cooperate with other officers. they say david visin refused to pull over -- driving with his stepson in june. officers were looking for his stepson after his truck was involved in a hit and run crash. instead of stopping, he allegely dropped his stepson off at a gas station. he says he didn't know anything

testimony continues this morning in the trial of a man accused of murdering his wife. alex fazzino is on trial. his wife --emily -- was found dead in their home in boone four years ago. the defense --which claims her death was an accident -- called the couple's former housekeeper to the stand. she refused to answer questions, pleading the fifth, when she was asked if she sold prescription drugs to emily. the defense then called alex's mother. she says she saw emily stumble, stagger and slur her words multiple times in the last year of her life. "i was very concerned, it was was upset for my son. now at thought we had a very close relationship." prosecutors say emily was on the road to recovery before she died.

in an iowa parking lot -- was a three year old boy davenport police say the boy was playing basketball in a school parking lot when a truck hit him on sunday. police have not released the name of the driver. u.s. marshals arrest an iowa man wanted on charges of attempted murder. authorities say cordarryl smith was involved in a cedar rapids shooting last september. smith was found yesterday -- and arrested in illinois after he tried to run away. this morning, four students are recovering after a shooting at a high school. police say a 14- year-old fired the shots inside an ohio high school cafeteria monday morning. two students were shot and two others were hurt trying to get out. all of them are expected to be ok. police say the shooter ran from the building and dropped the gun before being arrested. was someone out there, you know, who could've came and got us instead, but i'm just kind of thankful that i was safe." "i can't wait to get my hands on

emotional? yes, very much so." police say they do have a motive but are not releasing it right now. virginia police officer ashley guindon will be laid to rest today. the officer was shot and killed in the line of duty last saturday -- her first full day on the job. she and two other officers went to a home to investigate a domestic case -- when they were shot. a community in north carolina is struggling to deal with an officer involved shooting that left one person dead. police say the shooting victim was wanted on felony drug charges and ran away from officers trying to arrest him. at some point during the chase, police say an officer shot and killed the man. the state bureau of investigation has been called in to review the shooting. apple scores a win in a new york court as it continues to fight the f-b-i's court order in california. a federal judge says investigators cannot force apple

phone owned by a convicted drug dealer. right now, the tech giant is being pressured by federal investigators to break into 13 iphones across the country. that includes one that belonged to one of the san bernardino shooters. today, iowa's gas tax increase has been in effect for exactly one year. many people haven't given it much thought because prices have been so low. the ten-cent tax hike kicked in march first of last year after lawmakers approved it. it was expected to bring in about 215 million dollars a year to help fix roads and bridges across the state. the dot predicted black hawk county would get about 845-thousand dollars. the county engineer says one thing they're focusing on is improving gravel roads. they're also looking to bank much of the money for future projects. scary video out of texas shows a driver plowing into their car into a gas pump. you can see the driver frantically try to get other people out of
