kwwl's kristin rogers speaking with some of the vicims of the vandalism today--as well as the police chief. kristin how close are they to tracking down whoever did this? it sounded like they are feeling confident. the police chief told me they have some surveillence video and they have also received some promising tips. they planned to follow up on those leads today. city officials tell me a large portion of the lisbon population was at the state wrestling tournament when the vandalism happened. aside from the rude messages written very large on the school the d and d body shop tells me they had the initial d-b-z- painted on their nearly new garage door. the bank down the street was done to the school. (cg: ian dye/ lisbon "it's dissapointing anytime you have somebody that sentament was as part of that vandalism is not really representative of the group of people we have here at lisbon who are very excited and proud of their school." he says they plan to use this as an oppertuity to clean the school

the mother of emily fazzino, the woman found dead in her boone home in 2012, taking the stand today in the trial of alex fazzino. he allegedly killed his wife, the daughter of fareway's board chairman. in her testimony, cindy beckwith told jurors she was made aware of emily's addiction to prescription medication in the fall of 2011...just months before her death. after she told her mom, she underwent a four day detox in her mother's home in boone. the defense attempting to show they went that route so the community didn't get wind of emily's problem. beckwith disagreed because the in-home treatment went well. (cindy beckwith, emily fazzino's mother) "we felt like that's why i didn't think of putting her into an out-patient

beckwith also testifying there was a noticeable difference in emily after the treatment--saying she felt better about herself and was looking to enroll in college courses. president obama meeting republican senate leaders today to talk about the nomination of a supreme court nominee. senate majority leader mitch mcconnell... iowa's senator - judiciary committee chairman chuck grassley were among the big players in the meeting. senator grassley released this statement after the meeting. in the six years since obama has appointed two justices, the american people's disapproval of the supreme court jumped from 28 percent disapproval in 2009 to 50 percent disapproval in 2015 dog owners in one community are on egde after numerous large dogs have gone missing. the owners believe they've been kidnapped. kwwl's shirley descorbeth is live from the t-h media newsroom

shirley....this is happening just over the border in grant, county wisconsin. you went there today... that's right. dog owners who live in cuba city aren't taking this lightly. i spoke to one couple who are taking extra precautions after hearing of the dog nappings. take a look at this sign... it reads -- attention dog napper, my other dog, is a glock! the sign is posted right in front of the married couple's home. their dog is this large yellow labrador -- a beloved member of their family. his owners say they recently saw a suspicious car driving back and forth -- possibly related to the reported dog thefts. and now police have a warning "we had one member of our community that had a blue suv her dogs were in that fenced in went outside to see what they were looking at...the vehicle sped off." cuba city police say they don't have actual reports of dog thefts --

ordinance that will bring uber -- a ride service popular in big cities -- to the area. the city and uber began discussions last year after alleged sexual assaults at the university of tonight. kwwl's hillary maglin has been looking into this before tonight's meeting. hillary city council has been working with uber on ordinance revisions for months. they tell me they may finally have a solution. uber - it's an alternative taxi service that may be coming to iowa city. says it all depends on the decision iowa city city council andrew/city manager assistant) "this is the first time they have deliberated the ordinance in this form." the council adopted nats and after discussions with ride sharing companies... (sot) "we worked with representatives from uber in putting together the ordinance."

movie "spotlight" after its oscar win... the movie follows the true story of boston globe reporters who exposed the catholic priest sexual abuse scandal. a vatican-owned newspaper wrote in an editorial yesterday that the movie is not anti- catholic and has a compelling plot. in october, the paper called the movie honest and compelling. astronaut scott kelly returns to earth tonight... the astronaut tweeted the images of his final sunrise from the international space station... he'll be home after nearly a year in orbit. kelly will leave the international space station late tnoight - he'll land in kazakhstan tomorrow. then he'll return home to texas shortly there- after the defense attorneys featured in a recent netflix hit will be going on tour. dean strang and jerry buting have gained fame after the documentary series "making a murderer" hit netflix.
