city leaders saying the water is going down -- but slowly. so, this is still an emergency situation. kwwl's amanda gilbert joins us live in the newsroom.. she was in newbo this morning... one of the worst-hit areas in cedar some good news this afternoon... cedar rapids announced they reduced the evacuation zone from 28 feet to 24 feet. barricades were moved back overnight. i was in newbo this morning... it's important not to forget some but for the most part... workers in newbo agree the cedar rapids flood protection has been a success. take a look at these hesco barriers right here. you can see how tall they stand.... theres about 10 miles of these up all over the city. public works tells me they are still doing their job... holding water back... those barriers will stay up today... cedar rapids says although the water crested at around 22 feet yesterday...

today we hope to learn what charges may be filed after a 13-year-old girl is shot in the head. officers responding to 15th street south-east in cedar rapids yesterday morning. three suspects -- a man and two boys -- taken into custody about ten minu university of iowa hospitals and clinics -- but did not survive. her name has not been released. the city of cedar rapids was close to ending a flooding news conference this morning-- after a man screams raising concerns about the death of the 13-year old girl also bringing up a murder in 2- thousand-eight. what about the 13 year old death!!? what about the murder??

she was a thirteen year old child this man was escorted out by an altoona woman is charged after alledgedly sending nude photos of herself to the teenage son of her ex-boyfriend. police say 46-year- old charlotte to send sexual photos to the 17-year-old boy's father, whom she had been dating off and on. police say the two had an unfriendly split and that each was alleging harassment by the other. protests begin after police shoot and kill a man. it happened in southern california. police say a man was shot while acting erratically and not listening to their instructions. witnesses questioned the officers' motives in the shooting. crowds gathering by the scene began chanting, demanding answers
