there is more sunshine thursday. as a result, the high temperatures are a bit warmer continuing coverage tonight... we now know the name of a young girl shot and killed - seemingly by mistake. 13-year-old ireshia parks died tuesday morning-- police say she was shot by another 13-year- old. kwwl's kristin rogers joins us live from cepi i spoke to a man who heard the that morning-- he says--he didn't know her well but she was very polite. take a look at the scene tuesday morning-- multiple police officers--on scene as three intitial suspects were taken into custody. but police are charging a 13-year- old boy with involuntary manslaughter in parks death. the witness i spoke with says his girlfriend tended to parks after the

her you know telling her look at me, you know keeping her attention and she did pray with her." the remains of a vigil--now sit at the scene. this all happening on a week where cedar rapids students have been out of school-- due to flooding. this incident happening just before eight--yesterday morning. we've got you covered live in cedar rapids--kristin rogers...kwwl news. this is the second time a 13-year-old has been charged with involun months--in cedar rapids. two students and one teacher are wounded after a shooting at an elementary school today and police are saying the suspected teen shooter shot his dad...then went to open fire at townville school in south carolina the father of the suspected shooter is dead the extent of the other victims injuries are not clear yet. again- a teenage suspect is in custody. armed officers were seen at the school, and were reportedly escorting children from the school to a nearby church. people in linn county are still urged to stay out of the evacuation area and abide by the curfew times. city of cedar rapids saying 2,500 people will be able to homes and businesses today. however, until the river recedes to a safer level, the public is advised to stay out of the evacuation area crews have been working throughtout the night to monitor any potentials breeches. the city says the temporary flood measures of those hesco barriers have been holding up well. the mayor saying today they need "round two, the city won. the scores now city one, river one. we didn't skunk the river this time. we didn't win unanimously. we won, but there's still

was.. thankfully the damage is no where near what it was in oh 8. still many homes are dealing with flooding..the governor getting a good look this afternoon. benton county emergency managment says about 30 homes in the area are damaged..and now it's clean up time. one woman invited me inside her home..her basement is filled with water. like others, she lost everything in oh eight..and she is heartbroken her familys going through it again.just 8 years later. the governsa this is one of 21 counties now would expect once the assesment has been done that we will be requesting a presidential disaster designation as well. you can see the hesco barriers are still standing strong- the governor says he believes they kept much of the community safe. the town is looking for volunteers to help with the
