businesses getting back to normal in parts of eastern iowa as the river levels start to go down. and... the latest in the train crash in new jersey, where one person is ""you're watching kwwl, we've got you covered. this is the news at ten." breaking news tonight -- an arrest is made in connection to the death of a four- year-old iowa girl. good evening everyone, in and i'm amanda goodman. thanks for joining us. police charging 31-year-old kristi buss, of waterloo, with child endangerment resulting in death. her four-year-old daughter gracie was found unresponsive in their home back in may of 2015. -- she died shortly after. autopsy results show she died of severe trauma to her head. relatives believe she fell down

have been done intentionally. buss remains in the black hawk county jail on a 75-thousand-dollar bond. new details tonight -- in one of three settlements between victims and the waterloo police department. malcolm anderson -17 at the time -- was slammed to the ground outside the hospital and left there bleeding. this 2014 video shows the aftermath. anderson was assaulted after bringing a stranger he found stabbed in a city park to the hospital in a settlement the city paid anderson 95- thousand dollars for the suit and an extra 5-thousand to keep quiet. tonight --- kwwl's jessica hartman sitting down with malcolm anderson's mother about the assault, settlement, and the apparent current divide in the city of waterloo. jessica? yes --- this comes on the heals of three lawsuits the city settled coming to light last month and then sources confirming chief trelka

(cookie cole, bushel and a peck) "we had a three foot wall. they predicted 17 feet. it went to 20-21, so of course it damaged boxes dry in the sun. footprint where the flooding softened the concrete. all adding up to a costly fix. "this is our eighth flood. it's going to be up there. more than what you want to think." but they're keeping spirits high, and are back to selling, thanks in large part to their family. "we could not do it if we did not they work their little tuss off. they'll probably be glad when we retire." and she knows the damage could've been much worse if it weren't for the community she loves so much. "the sad thing, something so ugly, and it is ugly, it really brings the little town together. i bet we had 30-40 people down here, half of them i didn't even know." the cole's tell me they're

--more than a hundred people hurt after a commuter train crashes. the new jersey train crashing at the hoboken station during the middle of rush hour this morning. some of the victims pinned underneath piles of concrete --others crawling out of the windows to safety. the train also knocking out some of the pillars at the station --collapsing part of the roof. passengers and witnesses talking about what they saw and heard.
