and... one woman injured after a crash involving some heavy farm equipment. we look into safety on the roads ""you're watching kwwl, we've got you covered. this is the news at ten." good evening everyone, i'm amanda goodman. and i'm ron steele, thanks for joining us. the floods have passed --- but the clean up throughout eastern iowa take a look at the flooding in greene --- one of the first towns hit by the flood waters. people working through the night protect as much as they could. the waters forcing some to evacuate. stormtack seven's jessica hartman back in the town of greene earlier this evening --- she joins us live from waterloo,

warnings -- the rains continued in greene--- making the small community one of the first to see the flood waters ---but also one of the first to see it leave. it is a sight that has become all too familiar in the recent weeks. high waters and sandbags protecting as much as they can. a different story a week later -- the main street nearly back to normal. "i think everybody got back into going again. we learned a lot from '08 i think." only minor water reaching these businesses. said for some of the homes in greene. a letterman jacket amongst the dumped debris and a graveyard of ruined applicances. for one retired couple there isn't much difference between now and 8 years ago. these photos showing the water after it had receded for several days. "water every place things floating. every thing looked like a mess." the basements in this

it was just below this drywall ---this deep freeze floated off these cinder blocks and tipped over and many of the tools and projects that were stacked on this work bench had to be thrown away. "but in the long run it was probably good because if i wouldn't have thrown it out, we wouldn't have as clean of basement. my daughter headed said, 'dad, don't get mad, but i am throwing.'" despite major damage to homes in the area and a few businesses --

to get back to normal today. a lot of the bridges and ramps shut down last week because of to shut down. the majority of those businesses back up and running today, as e through downtown without any problems. the linn county courthouse reopening as well, but not beofre their computer system crashed. workers say it's hard to believe after dealing with flooding all last week. "i think people are really know everybodys told them things should be back to normal on monday and then to have the computers go down, it's tough." she says they are already behind

flood victims across the area. they were in vinton today --giving cleaning supplies and other items to people in need. many homes were destroyed in the flooding last week. one woman says they were "we expect a flood every once in a while but like after 2008 we'd never thought that it would get up in the house again and this time was were more prepared than last time but it did get our whole downstairs and everything" the red cross giving her family a grant --which will be used to pay for a new water pump, as well as new walls and floors. we're starting to get a look at some early damage reports from the recent flooding. you can see the breakdown by county here. black hawk and floyd counties with the most people affected --while butler county has the most homes with major damage.

linn with an estimated six-and- a-half million dollars in damage --the most across the state. butler county coming next with three-and-a-half million. both of the counties much higher than any other. so far, a total damage estimate of nearly 12-million- dollars. continuing covera- charges after her toddler shoots himself in the face. 26-year-old raven harris, of dubuque, pleading guilty to two state charges of child endangerment. her then two- year-old, jeremiah horsley, was found with gunshot wounds inside their home in january. according to court documents, harris and jeremiah's father, willie horsley, sr. left a gun in their bedroom, and their children were playing with it when it went off. the boy was rushed to the hospital and did survive. the two previously admitted to

endangerment charges. his trial is expected to begin oct. 31. harris' sentence is set for nov. 28. a ten-year-old boy is seriously injured after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle. it happened in the 11-hundred block of franklin street in waterloo. the boy was taken to the hospital by the driver of the car --with serious injuries, but he is expected to survive. su local murder investigation. keokuk police say 39-year-old russell tallman killed 29- year-old carissa rivers. she was found unresponsive in an alley overnight sunday and died at the hospital. a search warrant was later served at tallman's home. his body was found inside the basement after apparently shooting himself in the head. an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow. police responding to a report of an

it happened in the 700 block of first avenue in coralville. police say a man went up to two people, showing a handgun and demanded money, before attacking them. both were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. the man is described as tall and thin, wearing black pants, a red shirt and a mask. new details tonight -- police now identifying the drivers in an accident between a suv and a sprayer. th was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after she failed to yield to an agricultural sprayer in dyersville.. police had to cut her out from the s-u-v, which they say is totaled. kwwl's brad hanson joins us live from the telegraph herald newsroom in dubuque as we look into safety well there's no doubt that there are a lot more farm vehicles on the road this time of year. and if you're not paying

across the country. now, one school is forced to shut down due to similar social media threats. the threats made by people with twitter handles involving the word "clown" or pictures of clowns. a school in maryland closing today due to the posts. although police say the threats are not credible, some parents are john clendenin / parent "i take it very seriously, lot of crazy people out here and you know, what happens a lot of time is people focus their energy in the wrong place, they're crazy in the wrong place and this is one example... threatening schools the school is expected to reopen tomorrow. the threats are being made nationwide --but many have been fake. a car spins out --nearly hitting a group of people at an auto show. you can see the car here start to lose control and head towards the group in houston.
