before heading to the airport to fly down south. 48-year-old jimmy mcdaniel taken into custody at a hotel in prairie du chien, wisconsin. kwwl's shirley descorbeth is live in prarie du chien with more. shirley. i'm here outside of the crawford county sheriff's office. authorities not telling us much about this homicide. this is what we know. officers were called to a home on velvet lane just after midnight on wednesday. this is in bridgeport township...just outside prarie du chien. when they arrived -- they found the body of 55-year-old linda kline on the ground outside the home. according to police -- her boyfriend jimmy mcdaniel and her sister were both there. after an autopsy -- kline's death was ruled a homicide. and mcdaniel was arrested the following day. he was at an area

it's a scam. and now those scammers are getting busted. police in india arresting 70 people who've been posing as irs agents to steal cash from people in the u.s. but there are more out there. kwwl's elizabeth amanieh taking a closer look. elizabeth. police say there are still looking at more than 600 people involved. the scam- foreigners posing as irs agents from america. calling and demanding you pay off your outstanding debt. police say these scammers have been operating out of a total of nine call centers. making a 150 thousand dollars a pay up. "the irs had a warrant out for my arrest. because of you know, taxes that we hadn't paid. and so i asked him what county the

not a county. and they hung up." and those red flags are ones that have saved millions from these scammers. police tonight stressing to not give any personal information over the phone. a lot of people concerned after receiving these calls. but authorities say the irs will never call you. if they need to reach you, they will do so by mail. we've got you covered, elizab police in india say they had a mole working inside one of the call centers before the arrests were made. however-the call center owners were able to escape. if you've ever thought about becoming an iowa state trooper -- now is your chance. the department releasing this promotional video on social media to show people what the job entails. kwwl's macleod hageman joins us live with more.

investigators say alcohol did play a factor and twedt was last seen inside the university of iowa rec center. witnesses say he was very drunk and confused --and went into a restricted area. he was then apparently seen on surveillance video running towards the exit -- before falling into the river about ten minutes later. the drowning is ruled accidental. an iowa man is found guilty of raping a house guest. 47-year-old stephen brodersen third degree sexual abuse. he admits to having sex with a 25-year-old woman in may --but says it was an accident. however, prosecutors say the woman said no multiple tmes --but brodersen ignored her. police arrest a man accused of shooting at homes and people with a paintball gun. 26-year-old kenneth herring, of cedar rapids, charged with criminal mischief. police say he shot at multiple

complex in the cedar rapids area. one woman also reported being hit in the eye. herring was found near metro a dog is safe tonight, thanks to the efforts of one local community. this dog was stranded on the lakehurst dam in maquoketa--many saying it was stuck there for more than a day. kwwl's brad hanson checking in on the dog and getting the story of that rescue today in jackson this maquoketa community came together to save a dog's life." she was stranded on this dam, potentially for more than a day. but check this video out--the quality's not great, but the content is--some locals using a boat to save the dog's life.
