amanda goodman. and i'm ron steele. thanks for joining us. a man armed with a gun -- demanding money from a local store clerk. police need your help identifying this man -- who they say robbed a mexican restaurant and store at gunpoint. this happened at la placita mexican store in downtown waterloo sunday afternoon. police say a man walked in with a gun- demanding money. he was able to take off with some cash. kwwl's lauren moss speaking with us now live with our top story, lauren thankfully everyone's okay- but definitely a scary situation for employees..as a man walks in with a gun..demanding money. they say something like this has never happened to them before. video surveillance captures a scary moment for a young woman. you can see the fear in her face as she's ordered to give a man money- while a gun is aimed at her. we spoke with

year-old michael peterson from cedr falls. police say he was found hurt in an alley behind the ramp at east park avenue and lafayette street. he later died at the hospital. an autopsy is being conducted -- but police say they aren't suspecting foul play. iowa's most populated county is joining a growing list of places in iowa upping its minimum wage. supervisors in polk county giving final approval on a wage increase -- to the county that's home to des moines becomes the fourth iowa county to raise its minimum. the first two to make the move were johnson and linn counties. last year -- johnson county approved a plan to increase the county's minimum to 10-10 an hour by next year -- through three increments of 95 cents. certain towns were allowed to opt out of that increase. in linn county -- the minimum wage will increase to 10- 25 by january of 20-19. that county is increasing it's

today -- marking the beginning for major road project in eastern iowa. groundbreaking for a new phase of the southwest arterial along highway 52 happening today in dubuque. when the project's finished - the four-lane, divided highway will give people another option for driving through the southwestern portion of the city. the arterial will stretch just over six miles. the project will affect the community for years -- especially homes and businesses in the area. people living on cousins road used to be able to drive directly to highway 20... now they have to take a longer along sieppel road. "construction going on, we're kinda at the dead end of a road the right signage we think we can get around that, long term it'll be a good spot, an

everything in hurricane katrina, then lost her home in the 2008 flood is now facing more bad luck. she's now raising money to help deal with the damage she faces from the floods of 2016. lou thompson -- owner of the village meat market and deli in cedar rapids was out of business for two weeks during the 2016 flooding. she's now trying to raise money -- not for the lost business or the large portion of her inventory of perishables that had to be thrown out but instead for her employees who were out of work and her vendors. "this is their full time gig ya know and they have mortages and
