in a kwwl follow-up: the search for a man wanted in connection to a stabbing at the iowa state fair. the man wanted is craig hunt. he's considered armed and dangerous. hunt is accused of stabbing darquan jones on the last night of the fair in august. jones was treated and later released from the hospital. hunt is charged with attempted murder, and is also possibly connected to several shootings in the des moines area. an eastern iowa man dies after parking ramp. the man is identified as michael peterson from cedar falls. waterloo police say he was found hurt in an alley. he later died at the hospital. an autopsy is being done -- but police say, they are not imagine you're in a life or death situation, but the 911 operator won't take your call. that's exactly what happened in texas-- a former 911 operator in texas admits to hanging up on callers

because she didn't feel like talking... police found over a 6 month period, she had been involved in thousands of what are known as "short calls." those are 911 calls that last 20 seconds or less. they just said 'this is 911 how can i help you?' i was trying to finish my sentence, and we got disconnected." according to houston police, the woman answered the call. and simply hung up on the man. the woman is now facing criminal a lot of people -- including police -- in iowa are still talking about clowns. urbandale police arrested jacob steil for allegedly wearing a clown mask and chasing two people with a machete. its a new trend -- but clowns have been an iconic part of scaring factor at the heart of darkness for years... today might not be a great day to help farmers play catch-up. th fields because of all the rain we've had. here's a look at the flooding a few weeks ago in forest city. statewide -- 19 percent of the corn has been harvested. that's about three days behind last year's pace. soybean farmers have been able to get more than 40- percent of the crop out so far. this may come as a surprise to you -- or not at all. iowa is one of the leading states where you are most likely to hit a deer. a new report found iowa is ranked number 4 for worst states

hundred water rescues since saturday. another challenge, the washed out roads that's making it difficult for the first responders and emergency personnel to get the help to places where they need. now governor mccrory has been giving daily updates to the media here's what he had to say this morning. s/ at "if you are any where around had to leave their flooded home, there is help. the american red cross has set up more than sixty shelters across eastern north carolina, sheltering more than three thousand people. (--on camera tag--) all this water that is from this aftermath of hurricane matthew.

carolina renee chou nbc news. the american red cross says those shelters around the state will stay open as long as they're needed. the picture doesn't gives us a great look at the suspect, but waterloo police are hoping someone knows something -- and steps forward. la placita was held up on sunday. a man came in with a gun. here's a look at the suspect store's surveillance camera shows the man waving around a gun in front of a young woman behind the cash register... trying to argue or fight with there were other people inside the store at the time -- but no one was hurt. right now, there's a new city ordinance on the table that would require businesses to have a camera near the door.

if the waterloo city council approves it-- some businesses like restaurants, banks and hotels would have to buy cameras..and if businesses already have them ... updates and inspections would be mandatory. investigators say a cigarette might have caused a fire near a culver's restaurant. it happened in dubuque during the lunch hour yesterday. the actual restuarant didn't catch fire -- but the shed behind it did. inside is where they keep the dumpsters. those are also damaged. when the fire broke out -- the restaurant even though the restaurant stayed open, they closed the drive through window. rhode island authorities are investigating after a car smashed into a radio station overnight in woonsocket. an s-u-v slammed into the corner of the radio building-- badly damaging it. no one in the building was hurt and studio or transmitting equipment were affected by the crash. police said one person in the s-u-v was taken to a local hospital

a man is released from the hospital less than 24 hours after being attacked by a bear. the man was jogging on a california trail when he saw a bear. police say as he backed away from the animal -- another bear he didn't see attacked him. at least it was off the trail and he was able to break free and run his head, upper body, legs and feet. tiny houses. they're the hot new style of living-- one musician's new pride and joy-- wasn't burglarized. it wasn't robbed. it was stolen. let's take a listen-- "oh my god!" malinda crichton's new house wasn't burglarized... it wasn't robbed... it was stolen.
