we just heard kyle, it's definitely a cold one out there. crews over at heartland farms are doing what they can to protect their beloved pumpkin patch. storm track 7's lauren moss speaking with their farmer today she joins us noth there's a lot of water in pumpkins- so when the ground freezes...the pumpkin can freeze making it a soft and squishy. and no one likes that- you cant were preparing for the cold night ahead. a true sign of fall as rows of pumpkin are out at them much much worse. and farmer david myers doesnt want them getting any worse. so he's doing what he can to protect his pumpkins from the freeze warning- by laying out these black

this weekend. we've got you covered, lauren moss kwwl news. that freeze warning goes into effect from one until nine tomorrow morning. most of eastern iowa dry after the 2016 flooding but a lot of clean up work still to be done. in the northwest side of cedar rapids construction out of eldrige are getting to work starting to remove some of the 300-thousand plus sandbags that were filled. crews are reminding people to make sure the bags are ready for pickup. "make sure they're out as close to the street as possible. make sure your cars are out of the way. we're not going to work around them. we've been told if there's a car there, to bypass them and we don't want to have to keep coming back."

partners at the telegraph herald a staff member at bryant elementary school in dubuque has been diagnosed with mumps in september, five cases of mumps were confirmed according to the iowa department of public health, 11 cases have been confirmed so far in the county in total since august drivers may soon be seeing speed cameras in another eastern iowa community. many are familiar with the cameras in large metropolitan areas such as cedar rapids and des moines. giving final approval to an ordinance that would allow for the installation of the cameras -- if the city chooses to do so. but -- some in the city are kwwl's elizabeth amanieh has the details. elizabeth. ron-the concerns some people in the city are having are whether these cameras are even necessary. and if there are any alternatives the city can take before moving to what they feel is a drastic
