's comeback -- several weeks in the making. the new-bo city market is re- opening today -- and while the market itself did not take on flood water -- the surrounding new bohemia district along the cedar river took a hard hit as the river crested just below 22 feet late last month. kwwl's jalyn souchek visiting the market for the re-opening today. from cupcakes.. to coffee.. and even crepes.. inside -- the newbo city market houses 24 unique vendors the floods a few weeks ago... causing these vendors and

city market was untouched by any flooding it took almost three weeks to due to a lengthly inspection process for vendors to get back inside to work." "we feel fortunate there wasn't a flood. potentially we were looking at not being here for a month, or two months, or three months." many of the vendors being small businesses "this is supposed to be really kind of a place where small well.. "we do a lot of catering and were able to keep staff busy." decision 20-16 coverage now -- with a lot of presidential attention still focused on iowa. it's coming from both sides of the race tonight as election day approaches. bill clinton continuing his swing through the state today in support of his wife's candidacy. before making an official stop in mount vernon -- clinton stopping em's coffee company. the former president is wrapping up a two- day swing through our state. yesterday -- clinton spoke in indianola before holding a waterloo rally last night. at one point -- a protester interrupted his speech. take a you're a rapist! see what i mean? you're a rapist. now wait wait wait. you're a rapist. give that guy a hand they've had a very bad week at the trump

were then escorted out. bill clinton will round out his iowa tour with a speech in the quad cities tonight. a group of veterans in iowa are pledging their support for donald trump. the coalition of nearly 150 former officers and enlisted service members announcing a new statewide effort backing the republican nominee today. a theme of the group' g-o-p headquarters today: trump talks specifically about the issues that need to be discussed. joni ernst is the only female republican senator who didn't drop donald trump -- after a 2005 video was released of trump making sexist comments about women. kwwl's macleod hageman joins us live in new hampton with more.

during her 99- county tour -- and it seems the senator is more focused on policy than personality in thiis race. several republican leaders dropped trump after the access hollywood video was released -- saying he should step down. but senator ernst says her choice to stick with trump ultimately came back to the many flaws of hillary clinton as secretary of state -- including the use of her private e- mail server -- and failed policies in syria, iraq, and benghazi. policies aside -- i asked senator ernst how she explains trump's comments to someone like her own daughter. "there will be men who make comments like that. they will make them about young men and women, and they are inexcusable, and when put in a situation like that, know how to extricate yourself and just teach them to be strong." recently -- nevada senator deb fischer has since re-endorsed

trump -- after initially dropping him after the video was released. and again -- senator joni ernst says she does not defend donald trump's comments -- calling them -- inexcusable. we've got you covered live in new hampton -- macleod hageman -- kwwl news. senator ernst was wrapping up her 88th stop -- during her 99- county tour of the state. an area farmer is given a six-month prison sentence for selling corn -- that he had pledged as collateral on the farmer -- 59- year-old leroy jones -- was sentenced in u-s district court this week. he'll also have to pay nearly 138- thousand dollars in restitution. jones admitted to selling more than 90-thousand bushels of corn that he'd pledged as collateral in federal farm service agency loans in 20-14 and 20-15. an iowa man is accused of stealing some of his grandmother's

where 23-year-old colton rankin is in custody on theft and burglary charges. police there say rankin's grandmother called them when she noticed jewelry missing. she suspected her grandson of becuase of what she called a drug problem. police say rankin crossed the border into nebraska and pawned the jewelry in omaha. an embattled university president is trying to make things right in iowa. iowa state university president steven leath has donated 25-hunded more dollars in an effort to make up for the costs of his 20-15 accident in a university airplane. this donation comes on top of 15- thousand dollars in previous donations to i-s-u to compensate for the repair and storage costs of the single-engine plane. leath is a certified pilot and has apologized for his actions -- but a student organzation has called

being hit by a car outside a school the girl was riding her bicycle on idaho street near highland elementary school in waterloo, when she was hit. the girl was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay. kwwl's elizabeth amanieh speaking with a concerned parent tonight who has had enough. elizabeth. ron -- too many close calls. that's what these parents are of their childrens school. and now they want the city to take action making a safer school zone. more than just cross-guards. parents at highland elementary are concerned over this street in front of the school. they say drivers are speeding, and not paying attention to the yellow pedestrian signs. parents want more signs down the road-warning drivers of the school zone ahead. they also want flashing yellow

today--the market is cleared out--after it is forced to close because of the interchange. kwwl's taylor bailey with the market owner today. taylor? roger's market opened on highway 218 in 19-94. after more than 20 years of selling fresh produce to people traveling down the highway--the owners closed their doors for the last time. "i got the other stand open on roger's market owner, matt christopher--pointing a customer to his new stand "oh okay" his stand off of highway 218 is now closed. that's where we are gonna be from now on, thank you" the once thriving stand, after the construction of the new c57 overpass barricades gresham rd. "so i've got like two to three have to try and find me over there" rogers market has been in the family for four generations...his great grandmother built the first stand. "she built the stand that was there, then we built this one in 94 now i have to go into a different one again" and moving now moving day has come...nats dumping

it's troubling. congressman blum actually co-sponsored a bill that could make it legal for a woman to be fired just for being pregnant. and blum tried to defund planned parenthood, even though women depend on it for critical care, like cancer screenings. i was diagnosed with breast cancer, and i know it was early detection that made a difference. it's not a political issue.
