deputy is on administrative leave -- for an apparent weapons violation. 34-year-old erik mcferran was taken into custody for carrying a loaded gun while drunk. police were called to a waterloo gas station early this morning for an assault. when police got there -- the victim said mcferran had assaulted them. mcferran admitted to drinking and later blew a point one six nine blood alcohol concentration -- nearly three hours after the incident. according to iowa law -- it's legal for sheriff's deputies to carry a gun off duty -- but their conceal carry permit is void -- if intoxicated. "it can be a game changer if he's convicted of this

a firearm, you have to be even more responsible than everybody else." according to the the black hawk county sheriff's office -- mcferran is on administrative leave as they investigate the incident. a man is behind bars after police say he kidnapped and raped a 15- year-old girl as she was leaving school -- just outside of iowa. charges of rape and kidnapping. police say the girl was walking to a friend's house when the man allegedly asked her if she wanted a ride. when the teen refused -- police say the suspect continued to follow her and pulled her into his car. he's then accused of forcing her into his apartment. "once they were there, he had her inside the apartment and sometime in the next few hours he ended up sexually assaulting

was able to escpae when the suspect left his apartment to get a friend. she then stopped a man walking his dog -- who took her to a gas station and called police. the owner of an iowa mobile home park has been penalized for breaking water supply and wastewater treatment rules. the scott county district court says the peeters development company -- which operates the mount joy mobile home park in davenport -- has to pay 20- thousand dollars to the state. the state sued the company in excess arsenic levels in its water supply and failed to let residents know. the park was also accused of failing to maintain its wastewater plant from 20-13 through 20-15. the mumps is spreading at an area school district. students and staff from six different schools in dubuque have been sick with the illness more tonight. since the beginning of the school year, tweleve students and staff at several fifth school...and the first time i heard about it was parents...informing them
