the sheriff's office calls it a criminal investigation. they say a shooting happened in freeport last night. the winneshiek county sheriff's office says there's no reason to believe the public is in danger. we have reached out to the sheriff's office, decorah police and the d-c-i to ask whether they've got the shooter -- but we haven't heard back. we did speak to a girl who says she heard the gunshots last night. she says she then ran home. "i couldn't breathe because i was running so fast and i was scared half to death." the investigation seems to be focusing on dogwood road in freeport. the sheriff's office is asking people to stay away from the area for now. we'll stay on top of the story throughout the day on air and online. now, let's go to eileen with a warm today with highs in the mid tonight and the rest of the
