""you're watching kwwl, we've got you covered. this is the news at ten." the tragedy of a 7 year old boy hit by a pickup. good evening everyone, i'm ron steele. and i'm amanda goodman. thanks for joining us. a seven-year-old boy in critical condition tonight after being hit by a pickup truck. it happened this evening on west 11th street--near the south street intersection in waterloo. kwwl's lauren moss has the latest tonight. pick up truck off a very busy investigate. multiple agencie responded to the scene. lauren: the mother told waterloo police her son was going to play at a friend's house across the street, when he didnt look both ways and got hit near the front wheel. the head-light is shattered. waterloo police say the young boy suffered severe head

brad is back live in the telegraph herald newsroom in dubuque with more. the riverwalk in elkader is a popular spot--in fact, i'm told more than 250 people use it a day. and hopefully it'll be back up things are largely back to normal in elkader, after two massive floods hit the city over remaining scar--this chasm where the city's popular riverwalk once stood. the repair project a (jennifer cowsert, elkader city place priority on it, cause so many people use it and love it." fema approval. they have reviewed our projects and told us what would be eligible, and still have to do the paperwork for fema." this year's floods. she says most of the damage has been cleaned up--the riverwalk is the last large project to be tackled. new details -- a man is charged with homicide nearly two weeks after the death of his girlfriend. 48-year-old jimmy mcdaniel was arrested earlier this month just before heading to the airport to fly to georgia. his girlfriend's body, 53-year-old linda kline, was found at her home in bridgeport township, wisconsin --just outside of prair reporting kline's sitster called 911 after mcdaniel found linda hanging from a bird feeder in the backyard. officers reportedly found mcdaniel kneeling near kline's head trying to revive her. they say he was trying to stage it as a suicide --but kline apparently had defensive wounds on her hands and arms. mcdaniel is currently in jail on a 500-thousand dollar bond. his next court appearance is set

a retired grocer has his life sentence overturned. randy patrie of charles city, was charged with weapons crimes in relation to the 2012 death of carl "ken" gallmeyer. gallmeyer was found dead in a rural nashua home. investigators later finding guns, tools, and a tv owned by gallmeyer in patrie's home. patrie was then sentenced due to previous weapons and burglary charges. the u-s court of appeals now ordering he be re- sentenced patrie challenged the ruling. we're learning more tonight about a stabbing attack at an apartment complex. the man arrested is 28- year-old adam jacobsen. he's charged with two counts of attempted murder. police say he stabbed 62-year-old jeffery miller and 47-year-old denice bennett multiple times. they suffered serious injuries --but police believe they are stable tonight.. it happened yesterday at university avenue studios in cedar falls. police were actually called to

im leaving november the 4th...i have to. i told james. see i all of a sudden the reality is, they could kill any of us..for no reason at all. in april and may of this year, jacobsen allegedly posted several facebook messages mentioning killing and mental illness. this one saying "quote im craving murder."..again this but still very alarming to many people. one person is killed, another injured, after a head-on collision. it happened on highway two, west of 248th avenue in lee county. troopers say 18- year-old bailey straube, of carthage, illinois, crossed the center line and hit a car driven by 75-year- old janice judy, of west point. judy was killed in the crash,

straube was airlifted to the hospital. no word on her condition tonight or the cause of the crash. an iowa man accidentally shoots himself while on a hunting trip. daniel gehling, of denison, was on his way to hunt deer with his wife in crawford county, iowa. he was adjusting the pistol in his waistband and it went off, hitting him in the thigh. he was airlifted to a hospital in omaha for surgery and is now in one fisherman lost a big one today trailer slipped off the boat ramp and into the water at george wyth state park. d-n-r crews working for more than an hour to pull everything to the truck, and the entire thing is pulled back up the ramp and on to dry land. it's troubling. congressman blum actually co-sponsored a bill just for being pregnant. and blum tried to defund planned parenthood, even though women depend on it for critical care, like cancer screenings. i was diagnosed with breast cancer, and i know it was early detection that made a difference. it's not a political issue. it's about caring about all of our people here in this country.
