for your complete weather information. here is additional forecast information from the kwwl stormtrack 7 weather team: some light fog may affect your morning commute this morning, but we don't have too many problems being reported out there. skies are clear and should stay that way all day. temperatures are mainly in the 40s, but we have a few 30s showing up this morning. winds are less than 10 mph but will pick up from the day. that, along with plenty of sunshine, will help push temperatures back into the mid to upper 60s this afternoon. i'll have that forecast for you in a few minutes. than 10 mph but will pick up from the southwest today and stay around that 10 mph range much of the this morning -- we're learning more about the man accused of murdering two iowa police officers -- in an ambush attack. a judge had ordered scott greene to move out of his mom's

shootings. greene was having serious money problems. this week, a judge said he had physically hit and exploited his mother financially. he was told to return 10-thousand dollars to her. all of this happening hours before two police officers were shot to death in central iowa. a gun found by a search dog in the woods is believed to be the weapon used. des moines police say no person would've found the gun. it's another key piece of evidence in their investigation. whap calculated murder of two law- someone wants to argue that reality with me, my office is two doors down." hours after the shootings on wednesday morning -- greene turned himself in to a dnr officer on a gravel road in dallas county. he was taken to the hospital to be treated. he was released yesterday -- and was

handcuffs that belonged to the officers who were murdered. he's now in polk county jail...and facing two counts of first degree murder funeral arrangements are now set. des moines sergeant tony beminio -- who graduated from iowa city west -- will be laid to rest on monday in west des moines. the funeral for urbandale officer justin martin will be on tuesday in his hometown of rockwell city -- that's about 75 miles northwest of demo the tragedy is affecting people all over eastern iowa.. cedar falls third grade teacher kelly sullivan says when she woke up and heard the news the other friend... an officer who usually works the night shift in des moines.... "and i heard back from him almost right away. i was so sad. i was devastated. their courage and commitment to their job is amazing, and it's so important to honor what they do

car were waiting to make turn when they were both rear-ended by a different truck. the victims' names are not being released at this time. a world series celebration leaves one person in the hospital. this video is from iowa city -- not long after the cubs won the world series wednesday. to the right -- you can see a man hanging from a light pole. he would then fall. we're not showing you that part "i was with my girlfriend and a family and it's hard not to be." this morning, there's no word on how he's doing. three arrests are made after a hold- up at a domino's pizza in iowa city. police say two people with guns went into the restaurant early yesterday morning. four people were locked in a cooler. no one was hurt. police say they've taken these three into custody. all three are facing charges of

former police officer accused of shooting an unarmed man. michael slager is charged with shooting and killed walter scott. he shot him eight times after scott ran during a traffic stop. slager faces between 30 years and life in prison if he's convicted of murder. election say is just four days from now. this morning, we're taking a deeper look at another big race in eastern iowa. senate district 32 covers bremer, buchanan, southern fayette, and northern and eastern black hawk counties. the incumbent -- is the democratic senator brian schoenjahn. his challenger -- republican craig johnson. kwwl's elizabeth amanieh tells us more about their campaigns. both candidates for senate disitrict 32 put incumbent democratic candidate brian schoenjahn- a former teacher himself-says he knows the value of a proper education. "that is the way iowa has always operated, our priority opponent-candidate craig johnson puts just as much priority on education but wants to scale back

another pressing issue for both candidates? mental health services in the state of iowa. senator schoenjahn noting concern over the recent closure of mental health institutes. two of four remaining in the state of iowa-one being in his district of indepndence. "we have two bed per 100,00 people and half those beds are full of inmates." "we can no longer allow our county jails to become the de-facto mental of mental would do everyhting i can to fund those services and keep them going." johnson also promising to bring his business experience as the executive director of heartland acres to the table to create jobs. "i think government's role in generating businesses to allow businesses to be creative and get people hired and put them to work." and another issue johnson feels government should scale back on? gun control.

animals... a day at the state fair is a must for so many people. but, the c-d-c says 18 people have become infected with the swine flu, or the h-three n- two-v virus, at state fairs across the us. kim hutcherson has the story. more than a dozen children came down with swine that's according to a report from the c-d-c. 18 people -- 16 of them type of swine flu not seen before in humans. all of them reported some kind of exposure to pigs at handled or touched the animals, one reported indirect contact, but four said they'd simply passed through the exhibit. all of the patients are now fully recovered and researchers say they've seen no evidence of person-to- person transmission. but they warn that fair organizers should take steps to

stations around the swine exhibit, and limiting the time pigs are at the fairground to three days. after petting an animal, children should not be allowed to eat until after they've washed their hands or at least used hand sanitizers. all visitors should avoid putting their hands on their faces or in their mouths while at the fair. most importantly, experts say everyone six months and older according to that c-d-c report, no cases of h3n2v were reported in iowa this year. however, between 2011 and 2013, there were three cases reported. checking out storm track seven live doppler radar right now.. eileen's forecast is up next --
