for your complete weather information. here is additional forecast information from the kwwl stormtrack 7 weather team: after a fantastic weekend, our temperatures have dropped into the upper 30s to low 40s... similar to yesterday morning. we have light south winds and mainly clear skies, although some high clouds are tracking in ahead of a cold front that will track through later today... that will bring more clouds and a chance of some rain by late afternoon. generally, it will be mainly sunny most of the day with that chance of showers late. highs will stay above normal... in the low to mid 60s today with south winds around 5 to 10 mph. things change a bit tomorrow.... i'll have that forecast for you in a few minutes. we're now down to a matter of hours -- not days. the polls open tomorrow morning -- as the race to the white house -- which started in iowa... wraps up. that race has been tightening.

with 42 million votes already in... hillary clinton has a four-point lead in our last nbc-wall street journal poll. and the fbi now says its email review is over... with no smoking gun.. no charges.. and many of those 650-thousand emails.. duplicates. clinton did not mention it in new hampshire. she did talk about the day after the election: "we will have some work to do to bring about healing and reconciliation af listening to one another and respecting one another." "are we looking forward to like tuesday evening?" donald trump claims the fbi is protecting clinton. janet reno -- the first woman to serve as u-s attorney general -- has died. she died from complications of parkinson's. reno was one of the clinton administration's most recognizable and polarizing figures. she ran for governor in florida, but lost in 2002. reno was 78. continuing coverage this morning: funeral services are set for today for an iowa police officer murdered last week. services for des moines sergeant des moines. he graduated from iowa city west many years ago. he was one of two iowa police officers shot to death early wednesday morning. scott greene was arrested hours after the shootings and charged with two counts of murder. urbandale police officer justin martin was also killed. his funeral will happen tomorrow in his hometown of rockwell city. a law enforcement officer in georgia has been killed in a shooting. it happened last night. a sergeant and deputy were investigating a fight at a house

them. the sergeant was killed. "they get out. they walk both struck a ndtheey wnt down right there." the deputy is in critical condition this morning. the suspect was also shot. another police officer has died. this time in utah where the officer was hit by a car as he put down a spike strip. police were investigating a stolen car -- which led to a a spike strip when he was hit by the stolen car. three people were arrested. the officer who died -- had been on the force for three years. the idea is simple, but the problem it's addressing is complicated. big brothers big sisters is launching a program called bigs in blue. kate snow tells us the whole point is to bring kids and officers together to build trust. science, math reading. growing up in roanoke virginia, ryan brady knew exactly what he wanted to do.

the jury pool has been narrowed to more than 500 people who live in the charleston area. today, a man will be sentenced for a shooting spree inside the los angeles international airport. a federal security agent died in the shooting three years ago. a man pleaded guilty to 11 charges. he faces a mandatory life sentence. investigators are looking into a fire in a waterloo home. it happened yesterday morning on california street. investigators believe it started in the kitchen was a lot of damage to the kitchen and living room. two people were able to get out safely. police investigate a deadly crash in cedar falls over the weekend. cynthia brooks -- from waterloo -- was killed. she was 38. the driver and two other passengers were also hurt. two people in another car were also taken to the hospital. another body has been discovered not far from where a woman was found chained.

remains were found in one of two places the suspect pointed to as gravesites. kala brown was found chained in a metal container on the property on thursday. her boyfriend's body was found on friday. investigators say the suspect -- todd kohlhepp -- also confessed to a quadruple homicide that happened 13 years ago in south carolina. four people were murdered at a the world, and what we're hearing is this is really a bad, bad, bad person. and i hope to god that he gets what's coming to him, what he's done through all these years." family members say they're grateful to everyone involved in the investigation and are relieved to have answers. two people have been killed in severe weather. a tornado and flooding hit italy -- in and around rome.

collapsed after a twister hit near rome. someone else was injured when they were slammed by the wind against a window. the river that runs through florence also flooded. you could feel the entire house sway. that's how someone in oklahoma described an earthquake -- which was also felt as far away as iowa. the magnitude five-point-zero quake rattled central oklahoma last night. it sht in cushing. that's about 50 miles from oklahoma city. school has been cancelled in cushing today. a news conference is set for this morning to talk about the damage. some minor injuries have been reported. the city manager in cushing says -- this is beginning to become the new normal. quite a sight in a busy dubuque neighborhood. a huge sinkhole caused by a water main break.

one was injured. we spoke with a woman who was nearby when the road caved. information. here is additional forecast information from the kwwl stormtrack 7 weather team: raindrops by tonight. until then... mainly sunny skies will rule the area... we see more sun tomorrow and wednesday, as well. temperatures are running in the area with upper 40s to low 50s to our far northwest. winds are mainly light to 10 mph from the south and should stay there much of the day. there is rain to the west and southwest, but we may not see much of it as the system tracks through tonight....most of the energy and moisture stays to our south.... but we will dry out again for tuesday and stay dry the rest of the weekw today will be mainly sunny, with a few more clouds this afternoon and a few showers possible by late afternoon. highs aim for the low to mid 60s with south winds at 5-10 mph. we could see showers tonight with lows in the 40s... and we clear back out for tuesday bounce from the 50s to new 60 for the rest of the week and into the weekend for highs with lows mainly in the 30s. on the way:
