highways blocked, crowds erupting. across the country -- a number of protests from people who do not support our country's next president. in california -- several hundred people blocked one of the busiest freeways. not their president. "hey, ho ho, donald trump has ...proteistng into the election victory that shocked the world. philadelphia... ...to oregon... ...and down through the west coast to los angeles... ...some demonstrators there -- setting fire to a donald trump effigy... others -- blocking the highway. in new york -- as many as 5,000 people gathered outside trump tower... ...while in the nation's capital --anti-trump chants echoed through the streets. (nat pop) "no trump, no kkk, no racist usa" a similar outcry -- heard

time now is xxx. a kwwl follow-up this morning. arrested after being released from the hospital. cedar falls police arresting 42-year -old charles brooks of minnesota on a warrant for serious injury by a motor vehicle. police say brooks was speeding when he collided with a dodge caravan -- causing injuries to passngers in the van. 38-year-old cynthia brooks of waterloo died. the cars involved in the crash -- destroyed the next day when burned through a cedar falls evidence storage building. police say everything inside the building was lost in the fire. twenty years in prison for trying to lure a 15-year- old boy. according to the plea agreement, kevin carpenter of mount vernon placed an ad on craigslist titled, "looking for young boy." an undercover iowa d-c-i agent saw the post and arranged to meet carpenter in august of 2014 --where he admitted everything and was arrested. a pilot and a passemher hurt

it's unlear how the two people are doing. it was the second plane crash in the area -- happening just after this one. two people died. the f-a-a and the n-t-s-b are working together to figure out what happened. dramatic surveillance video shows an armed bank robbery. you'll see the suspects drive up to the colorado bank and run inside. there-- the men pull out their guns and start pointing them at the the two did manage to get away and the f-b-i says they should be considered armed and dangerous.. a massive fire overtakes a former steel plant. smoke coming from the new york fire could be seen for miles. people nearby heard explosions before the roof collapsed. hundreds of firefighters battling the large fire -- luckily nobody was hurt. no word on the cause. dozens of students sick after being exposed to a strong smell

58 people -- in all taken to the hospital. the smell in pennsylvania causing multiple elementary schools to evacuate. at this point crews do not know the source of the gas odor and the injuries. time now is xxx. new this morning keeping up with his brother... one hudson two- year old can now ride his bike with his family it's all thanks to the help of a nonprofit. kwwl's amanda gilbert joins us live in cedar fall's with this two year old cooper was born with spina bifida... a disorder that affects his ability to walk.. breathe and swallow. he couldn't ride the tricycle his twin brother was using.. . that's when nonprofit ambucs pitched in to help. they raised money to get cooper a new adaptive trycle... it would usually cost around 800

warming up a bit this morning... back into the upper 30s to low 40s over most of the kwwl viewing area. that is due to southwesterly winds starting to pick up... they will be mainly around 15 mph but gusting to 25 mph today before dying down this evening. we also have pretty clear skies out there this morning... that will continue today with mild temperatures, too... aiming for the low to mid 60s this through. i'll have that forecast for you in a few minutes. our top story this morning -- from shock to rage. protests happening all across the country -- some refusing to accept donald trump will be our country's next president in new york - the crowd growing from hundreds to thousands. people marching to trump tower -- where trump lives -- blocking traffic and carrying signs and banners. in seattle, hundreds gathered to listen to speakers, then marched through downtown.

in london, protesters gathered outside the u-s embassy... chanting "stop the trump." mexico's foreign minister is rejecting the idea of a u-s border wall that mexico would pay for. he said said paying for a u-s border wall, quote, "is not part of our vision." there are existing barriers at the border in tijuana, and mexicans have previously added their own visual protests against u-s immigration policies. trump's presidency -- may mean the completion of the a north dakota congressman helped write trump's pro-oil energy plan. he hopes the pipeline construction issue will be solved before january 20th -- but if it's not -- he believes trump will push to complete the project. as we've been reporting -- the standing rock sioux tribe fears the multi-billion dollar pipeline will harm water and cultural sites. north dakota has a new governor elect.

"you'll have cedar rapids they've lost their representation." he believes some voters may not like the salaries they make. each bringing in more than 100- thousand dollars a year. the changes to the board will come

continuing coverage -- a guilty plea from a man involved in a school bus crash, which injured several students. monte klink had been charged with serious injury by vehicle and operating while intoxicated. authorities say klink tested positive for meth after the crash. according to court documents, he was driving an s-u-v in rural manchester in october of 2015 when he didn't yield to a west collision, injuring some of the 32 students on board. klink could face up to 10 years in prison. home from school. it happened along state street near downtown waterloo. there were at least six bullets in a home where neighbors say at least two young children live. across the street --- one bullet hit a home -- just feet from where a woman was napping. like that happen, that is quite so. i said to russ, we could

targeted. hundreds come to honor a deputy who was accidentally shot and killed by a fellow deputy. the california deputy was killed "he was one of the few men i could look up to without being disappointed." he served for more than 20 years. he leaves behind four children. jury deliberations now underway in the trial of a fo with murder. former university of cincinnati police officer ray tensing faces charges of murder and voluntary manslaughter in the death of an unarmed man -- sam dubose. defense attorneys say tensing feared for his life. prosecutors are calling the shooting unjustified. a courtroom turns upside down. a brawl broke out. police told a man to leave after he barged into a courtroom during a hearing. he demanded to speak to the judge. he was told to get out.

bikes and trykes to people with disabilites. they're hoping to start an iowa chapter by showing how much one of their adaptive bikes helped a hudson two year old named cooper (nat) riding with his twin brother max... "do you guys ride bikes toge? their both two year's old... "cooper is two." but cooper's mike is a little different than max's cooper has a hard time riding this adaptive trycicle and this helment free of charge... "either he can hand pedal it or just works great to have everything on one compact trycicle."
