going to stop him from standing behind the man he believes is james whitmer will cast his vote in december-fulfilling his duty as an electoral college representative. but ever since election night-when donald trump won the state's six electoral college votes-he's found himself having to deal with what he's calling threatening demands. "from people who i don't know-who are demanding that i vote for someone other than trump. a lot of them demanding that i vote for hillary clinton." calls and messages on his business's facebook page. a lot of these demands coming from women "no one have overtly threatened me, but i feel that it could come to that. and these people have looted. they have assaulted people. they're having these huge demonstrations in major cities, and they are just mad about this election." standup "now several people have asked him to change his vote. we asked him if that's even an option." "i'll be honest with you donald trump was my last choice of republicans running, and i certainly could vote for him or anyone else. and that would be perfectly legal, and that vote would register as an electoral vote. but i feeel that would be throwing my vote

issues along roads -- with two cars colliding in waterloo. police say the fog played a role in the accident -- at the intersection of broadway and here is additional forecast to develop late tonight into information from the kwwl new at six -- more than seventy people in one local community protesting the dakota access pipeline. the protestors taking up space in front of a u-s bank in downtown dubuque.

all coming from cedar rapids-- and they aren't all coming from iowa-- in fact--they told me one--came all the way from washington d.c.-- live in cedar rapids--kristin rogers--news 7 kwwl. brewhemia says at around two- dollars a cup-- they should be able to offer police officers free coffee for a long time. the trial for an area police officer acce start in january. waterloo lieutenant corbin payne pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of assault causing bodily inijury. his trial was set to start today -- instead, it will now begin on the morning of january 10th. the charges date back to an encounter in june -- allegedly between payne and a delivery driver. according to police reports -- payne accused the victim of speeding and cutting payne and his wife off. payne is then accused of following the victim into the

pulling the man out and allegedly choking him. payne was off- duty at the time. the black hawk county sheriff's department has handled the case. police in waterloo -- also investigating an armed robbery today. the robbery allegedly happening here -- at the metro mart along falls avenue. police say they have not made any arrests in the case at this time. they're also unsure what was taken from the store. fortunately no one was hurt in the hold up. some changes coming to onf highways...in order to get rid of a deadly intersection. seventh street and highway-20 in dyersville....is now closed. drivers there will now use a new interchange. kwwl's shirley descorbeth live in dubuque with more details. shirley. the interchange is something

that's because of that dangerous intersection... where some people have even of construction -- the highway 20 interchange in dyersville is now open. the goal is to make intersection of 7th street southwest and highway-20. "and people who live here say this was a very dangerous intersection. one family that's lived here for about 20 years say they're aware of at least iowa d-o-t made some changes in hopes of improving this. "over the years, we've made several improvements to that limits...nothing seemed to make a difference in our crash rate there." so instd high speed traffic to get on to the highway -- drivers will now use a ramp like this, to get on or off. the hope is...the interchange will save lives. "the hope is that without those t-bones and head-on collisions, everyone will be merging at a ramp that it will lead to maybe,

wright's death marks waterloo's third homicide of the year -- and the second in the month of november. police in western iowa say a mother of three used meth before taking her kids to a chuck e. cheese's restaurant. 39-year-old christine hall -- of council bluffs -- is facing child neglect and endangerment charges after officers say she and meth was allegedly found in her three- year-old child's hair. hall's other children are one and 16. she is free on bond -- and will return to court next month. coming up... the uni and iowa state women's basketball teams take the court tonight to renew their intra-state rivalry. and iowa hawkeye football players have learned not to drop their helmets during a big kinnick stadium celebration.
