the victim --28- year-old wendi smith --she is expected to survive. officers say she is not cooperating with police, so no arrests have been made. a toddler is recovering after a daycare worker apparently tries to hang him. minneapolis police say a parent dropping off her own child was able to rescue the 16- month old boy. police say the daycare worker then took off in a van and then threatened to jump off an overpass. there's no word on the motive behind any of her actions. the people hit by the car are both expected to be ok, as well as a dubuque man is arrested, accused of punching the mother of his child through a window. officers repsonding to the 19-hundred block of jackson street. 35-year-old gus lewis, jr. faces charges of burglary, child endangerment, and public intoxication.

iowa and the university of nebraska marching a total of 347 miles--going from memorial stadium in lincoln to kinnick stadium in iowa city. it's all to bring awareness to veteran suicide. the nebraska veterans left thursday and are headed towards where they will hand it off to this group to bring back to kinnick. known and worked with that you know have died in the last 15 years of the war on terror either to combat action or carrying important items or 22 pounds--to represent the number of veterans who committ suicide each day.
