his two dogs were also rescued. the cause of the fire is under investigation. a group of students will be addressing the dubuque city council tomorrow. they want people to reduce their use of plastic bags. students with the loras college honors project will be voicing their concerns. they say most plastic bags end up in landfills and waterways such as the mississippi river... causing harm to the environment and animals. the group proposing several options to the council, "the ban wasn't met with a lot of praise from a lot of anything away from people and they'll still have the option to take plastic bags, that people will take it better and see what bags at the check out. a portion of the funds earned would go to the grocery store... the rest to the city. an area woman showing her

private first class wilbur mattern, of oelwein was killed in battle back in 1943 --but his remains have not been recovered until recently. we spoke with a mother who lost mattern. was just pounding rushed to iowa city for immediate surgery once doctors discovered she had a brain anuerysm. "back in the hospital, i really she spent several weeks recovering... getting better with the "thinking of you" classmates sent her emails and notes... even signing a blanket for her. the school orechestra concert was dedicated in her honor. but "and it's just hard to think of somehting like that happening." they started a fundraiser askign everyone in their school to donate change in these buckets... calling it pennies for lilly... "we raised over 1500 dollars from the penny drive.

dead in their home - police say it could be a murder-suicide. this is in georgia. police say a man came home to find his wife, 26-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter dead this weekend. detectives are calling this a possible double murder suicide... and believe the 26- year-old son may have killed his mom and sister then turned the gun on himself. "this is a very tragic situat for this family, one week before thanksgiving... when most people are finalizing their holiday plans... for them to have to investigate. more than one- hundred people are killed and many more injured after a train derails in india. fourteen cars went off the tracks this morning. rescuers climbed through the

the cause is under investigation. four people are dead after a helicopter crashes in brazil. local police say this happened during a police operation. no word on the cause. authorities say they found a baby who was reported missing on thursday after her mother was killed in kansas. imagine the panic, on thursday... the baby's mother was found shot to death inside their home and the baby...missing. week-old sophia gonzales was found alive and hundreds of miles away at a home in dallas. are being released at this time. tragic news this morning: a firefighter dies while trying to rescue people who fell into a river. this happening in georgia. one of the city's ramps collapsed, sending at least a dozen people into the water. the firefighter had a medical emergency during the rescue. he was later transported to the hospital, but later died. people in tennessee are on edge after two churches are targets in recent shooting. the pastor says his church members are scared. and our era was raised where we had respect for the house of god." police are searching for suspects in the shootings. a trailer carrying more than 150 hogs rolls over in sioux city. this happened friday. as you can see, some of the pigs escaped -- but animal control workers were able to grab them. the driver of the semi was not
