♪ >> from the cbs broadcast center in philadelphia this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> right now on eyewitness some signs of improvement in the condition of actor tracey morgan didn't night we're learning more about the injuries he sustained after a deadly pileup on the new jersey turnpike.

good evening i'm natasha brown. thanks so much for joining us tonight. the crash early saturday morning killed one person, critically injured morgan and two others. the truck driver who police say caused this crash is free on bail tonight. and cbs news has now learned he told police he may have dosed off while driving. "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers has more now from new brunswick, inform. >> reporter: cbs-3 exclusive video shows the intensity of the early saturday morning crash limo bus carrying actor and median tracey morgan and sick others completely totaled towed away on flatbed truck for the first time sunday we saw the man police say is responsible for the accident. 35 year old kevin roper a wal*mart truck driver from georgia is charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto. officials said he didn't notice traffic slowing down along the new jersey turnpike near cranbury township and crashed into the back of morgan's limo. 63 year old comedian james mcnair was killed. trace so morgan his assistant jeffrey may lea and another

comedian sustained severe injuries and were taken to robert wood johnson hospital in critical condition. a late sunday afternoon update from a family representative said morgan sustained broken l leg, femur, nose and several ribs. but is expected to survive. no word on the conditions of the other passengers. >> tracey morgan is expected to be in the hospital for the next several weeks. his family thanked his fans sunday afternoon for their love and support over the last few days. we're in new brunswick, new jersey, matt rivers cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> the driver of morgan's limo bus tyrone gale who was treated for minor injuries he wrote this on his facebook page. i can only say feeling helpless on the highway was very hard to take. there was nothing i could do but scream at times. i am truly sad for the loss of james mcnair this is not something i'll be able to forget in my lifetime. "eyewitness news" was the first to roar the tracey morgan was involved in this deadly crash. so we will continue to stay on top of every angle of the

on-going investigation. you'll find any updates on television and online at cbs phillcbsphilly.com. turning to our weather. we had picture perfect weekend all good things must come to an end. tonight we'ring tracking storms as we head into the work week. meteorologist justin drabick is joining us now with his first forecast. look like we'll have to break out the umbrellas fort entire work week the forecast returns unsettled and we are tracking some rain especially north and west of the city. heavy rain now moving through berks cun tee and lehigh county this hour. zoom in closer. you actually see lightning strike so still potential for thunderstorm in this area over the neck hour. heavy rain over reading indicated by the yellows, reds and oranges this is all heading off to the east and northeast eventually moving through the allentown area. here in the city still dry but we could get a few showers knew the thirty four night hours into south jersey as well. monday scattered showers any time through the day. so even during the morning hours that could slow things down a little bit.

there's potential for thunderstorm during the afternoon. if that does happen watch out for some ice layed heavy downpours if you get caught one of those thunderstorms much it's warm outside still. low to mid 70s for the warm spots. 60s though in the suburbs. 70 in doylestown. 67 in mt. holly, inform coming up in the full forecast we'll talk about more humidity on the way and the rest of week looks unsettled. we'll let when you know we finally dry out in the full forecast in few minutes. natasha. >> wake up with "eyewitness news" this morning and meteorologist katie fehlinger. she'll have the latest on the storm starting at 4:30am. now a shooting rampage in las vegas leaves five people dead including two police officers who were ambushed. the officers were eating lunch at a pizza parlor when a couple walked in and shot them. the man and woman then fled to nearby wal*mart store where they shot another person and then killed themselves. eyewitnesses heard the suspects yelling. >> they had backpack and i saw

their guns in their hands. and he just told me to tell the cops that it was a revolution and he had just killed two cops inside ciancias. >> it's a tragic day. it's a very, very day. but we still have a community of police and we still have a community to protect. >> reporter: the shooting victim at wal*mart woman has yet been identified. police are still trying to determine a motive. >> and police in camden county they say it was a loved triangle that sparked violent confrontation at a wawa. investigators say one of the women had a knife. now this happened at wawa on 800 block of north black horse pike in runnemede. "eyewitness news" reporter elizabeth hur is live tonight with all the details. liz? >> reporter: natasha, police say that confrontation ended with two people being stabbed. one of them an innocent bystander. police say the 18 year old was here working at the time when he was hurt trying to break up the fight. a good samaritan at this run

need wawa. >> a gas a sten dan attempted to split up the two females. >> reporter: was only trying to help police say -- >> he was stabbed in the arm. >> reporter: when he himself fell victim sunday morning. >> our suspect her name is chat doah sitting in the vehicle when davis, she approached the car, striking her in the face once. she exits the vehicle with a knife allegedly stabbing miss davis several times in the side and the arm. it seems that miss davis tracked her estranged hub's phone to the wawa. >> reporter: using the app find my iphone, police say davis found her estranged husband john here but at the time he was inside the wawa and he was not hurt. no one answered the door at davis' home sunday but according to police the couple had been

estranged for about four years. what motivated this attack police say remains under investigation. and fortunately police say no one sudden any live threat tinning injuries and on their end, they have now filed charges in this case, and they are we're told 37 year old alleged girlfriend has been charged with aggravated assault and she's right now in jail on a $70,000s bail. and the 34 year old estranged wife we're told has also been charged with simple assault. this for allegedly punching and biting the other woman. reporting live in runnemede, new jersey, i'm elizabeth hur cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> liz, thank you so much. also knew a tonight the search is on for suspect in an armed robbery in bucks county at the cvs pharmacy at counsel lee line plaza in hilltown township a man wearing a homemade mask threatened employees with a hand grenade and stole an undisclosed

amount of medication. k9 units searched the area but could in the fine the suspect. there are in reports of any injuries. philadelphia police they're investigate a deadly case of road wage on the boulevard. it happened just after 11:00 last night near the intersection of north fifth street in feltonville. the argument was 14 between the occupants of a car and the driver of a motorcycle. a 43 year old man was killed. a 31 year old woman was shot twice but is now listed in stable condition. police are questioning one person. so far no charges have been filed. >> and a driver who crashed into a house in camden is listed in critical condition. it's discovered he had been shot several times. this was the scene on the 700 block of sycamore street in camden overnight. you see the car riddled with bullet holes. three residents were displaced because of the damage done to their homes. and crews working to repair a large water main break that damaged two properties and turned a north philadelphia street into a mess still happening much the water that

gushed from a ruptured main left gaping hole at 27th and master streets in brewery town. workers capped the 36-inch main but that intersection does remain closed. neighbors described the scene as a raging river going right down the street. >> it was -- it was crazy. >> last night it was a lot of water. it was like running rapids down who are. took the water department a little while to get down here, but eventually they did. quarantined off the areas around the blocks, and started going down. >> no one lost water service as a result of the break. meantime officials are not sure how long it will take to fix the broken pipe or when the road will ultimate and be repaired. crews in delaware um finished removing a large mound of dish suspected of causing the interstate 495 bridge to tilt a bit. officials have said removing the dirt is the first step in getting the bridge repaired closed to traffic last week. the work on the bridge is expected to take weeks if not

months. >> and drivers on 95 be advised. crews will begin setting up concrete barriers in the northbound lanes of 95 between girard and allegheny on monday night. in order to paint knew traffic lines. the work will be done in the overnight hours this week. but expect delays until commuters adjust to the new traffic patterns. work on the southbound lanes begins june 19th. philadelphia's 26th annual pride parade took over the streets of center city this afternoon. ♪ >> along with the music and festivities there were 15 wedding ceremonies performed. celebrating the state's legalization of gay marriage on may 20t 20th 20th. participants marched from independence mall from penn's landing that's where the village people entertained the crowd. >> still ahead here and it were the news tonight a first for the vatican. pope francis hopes historic meeting between the presidents of israel and palestine. we'll have more on this prayer

>> severe storms sweep across colorado's front range spawning several damaging tornadoes. in the denver suburb of aurora a tornado touched down near a country club flipping an empty trailer and causing one minor injury. meteorologist justin drabick is tracking storms heading our way and he's going to break down what you can expect coming up in just a few minutes or so. u.s. army sergeant bowe bergdahl has told the people treating him at a u.s. military hospital that he was tortured while in taliban captivity. bergdahl said that he was beaten and held in cage after he tried to escape. the new york times is now reporting that doctors say bergdahl is physically able to travel but not emotionally ready to be reunited with his family. bergdahl was returned to the us military in exchange for the release of five taliban militants at guantonimo bay. a move that sparked political fire storm. >> what we're doing here is recon substitution -- constituting the taliban government the same guys that

are mass murders, one killed thousands of shiite muslims. >> we know we have the ability to be able to deal with people who want to threaten americans or threaten the united states. if that's what they go back on their word to do or if the qat qatars we have any number of avenues of available to us to be able to deal with that. >> the fbi says authorities are now investigating threats made against bowe bergdahl's familiar who live in idaho. >> the president of israel and palestine spent this sunday with pope francis at the vatican to pray for peace. cbs news correspondent anna, has more on this historic meeting. >> reporter: israeli and palestinian presidents embraced and planned on olive tree assign of peace. pope francis invited the two presidents to the vatican after piece talks broke down last month. >> the pontiff told the leaders they must respond to their peoples's desire for peace. both men replied with words of

rise. >> oh, boy. yeah, it will feel a little bit more like summer this week. typical summer like forecast coming up. still quite though in center city. this hour. just some clouds over the region but there are some showers just off to the north and west. check out storm scan3. and that's not a large storm system actually lot of these showers are beginning to break up as they push east but this system is actually going to stall out a little bit over the next few days keeping our forecast unsettled maybe a little bit of light rain trying to break out into chester county, parts of montgomery county as you head up towards berks county seeing a thunderstorm right now one lightning strike near the reading area headed towards allentown over the next half hour or so. again overnight off and on showers, maybe you hear a rumble thunder. dry in south jersey still you guys aren't out of the woods threw the overnight hours. you zoo they heavier rain moving up towards the allentown area. this could impact the morning commute tomorrow. depending on where you are. more scattered early in the morning. not a steady rain. 71 at the airport in

philadelphia. 70 in wilmington and trenton so a warmer night tonight. humidity levels will be on the rise. dew point temperatures tell us how much moisture humidity is in the air. right now we're still looking at 50s which is pretty low for this time of year. so somewhat comfortable. but dew points to our west starting that rise into the 60s. so that's a sign of a more humid air mass building in. so again we talk about that comfort index right now dew points 54 degrees. tomorrow we're talking about dew points in the mid 60s. so what does that mean? well, it's going to start feel steamy and very humid and possibly tuesday we approach the 70-degree mark for the due point. oppressive feel to it. uncomfortable air mass certainly building and in. storm slows up over the region tomorrow. clouds off and on showers any time maybe a thunderstorm highs near idea degrees. warm and humid tuesday. front kind of just offshore. so that keeps the shower or storm chance especially into the afternoon early evening. wednesday i think we do catch break a little bit. kind of in between two storm systems. still going to be warm and

humid. temperatures in the mid 80s. but i think that's probably the driest day of the upcoming week. so again some showers around overnight. could linger into early tomorrow morning. but certainly through the afternoon we'll see another flare up of scattered showers maybe a thunderstorm. same deal tuesday afternoon. more wet weather and pockets of heavier rain and then wednesday this model showing a little bit of a dry period wednesday afternoon. so if you have outdoor plans wednesday may be the best day. all right. overnight mostly cloudy a few showers and storms especially north and west of the city. 65 for the overnight low temperature. warm and humid day for monday. showers and storms any time during the day. 80 for the high temperature which is close to average. not the best looking beach day with more clouds, some showers. it will be breezy at the shore. air temperature 74 degrees but the water temperature starring that warm up. up to 70 degrees right now. here the extended forecast. a lot of clouds this week. 82 for the high on tuesday. still afternoon showers and thunderstorm chances. partly to mostly cloudy wednesday 84. thursday and friday the next
