accident. the car flipped. it is on its side. >> reporter: the calls after the crash for the first time we will hear from witness hose called 911 for help after a deadly accident that critically injured the comedian tracie morgan. also tonight we're learning more about what may have cause that had crash. good evening, i'm chris may. i'm jessica dean. cbs-3 punk waiting first moments after limo van carrying seven including tracie morgan rear ended by a wal-mart semi truck, early saturday morning on the new jersey turnpike in, a deadly crash. our exclusive video of the total van, shows the extent of the damage. >> i'm doing fine. >> reporter: harris stanton 11 of the seven, new york comedian recalls what it felt like just two days after being released from the hospital. >> very scary. car extent, yo. >> reporter: crash killed six three-year old james mcnair, hospital officials say tracie morgan, his assistant jeffery mallea and a comedian remain in critical condition. monday criminal court documents released to cbs-3 say the driver of the semi 35 year-old kevin roper had gone more than 24 hours, without sleeping. >> speed limit is 65, and, they go 72, 75, and, driving across the county, the

let look at storm scan three, a very slow moving thunderstorm and it is dumping inches of rain. real target areas southeastern corner of the montgomery county and northern part of the philadelphia county. you can see area right here, abington, cheltenham, thinks all moving toward the northeast very slowly and flooding concerns will continue. a flash flood warning is in effect for this region until 8:15 tonight. here's a look at what you can expect in that warning area, we're talking about rain rates in excess of 2 inches an hour, street flooding, stream and creek flooding and two water areas near ambler and norristown. definitely a serious situation. back here live we're talking about rain on and off, spot i showers, throughout the knight period but more unsettled weather coming up this week and flooding concerns, more on that when i join you inside. >> all right, kathy, thanks very much. breaking news right now

protesters have converge on the side of the reelection fundraiser for pennsylvania governor tom corbett. new jersey governor chris christie is at the event that is getting underway right now. our todd quinones is live on the scene in certainty city with more, todd. >> reporter: chris, 17th street here north of jfk just reopened here moments ago as protesters were staging a bit of the sit in. protesters including students as well as members of the philadelphia teachers union. they are here to protest pennsylvania governor tom corbett as he is expected to attend a private fund raise tore day inside the comcast center. new jersey governor chris christie is also here as well and in support of the corbett. protesters are upset about more than 200 million budget cuts to the district at a time when corbett is raising money for his reelection campaign. the teachers union is trying to rally the troops. of course, district has shut down dozens of schools and

laid off hundreds of employees over the past year or so and now teachers want their voices heard. >> we want the governor to know that we don't want to go through another school year without counselors, without certified school librarians, without nurses, without music, without art, without other programs and services for our child ren. >> reporter: about six protesters here were cited for obstructing the street. governor corbett's private fundraiser is inside the comcast center here is expect to begin within the hour. reporting live tonight from center city, todd quinones, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thanks very much. governor christie earlier joined camden mayor dana redd in camden high school where he announced a new education partnership deironed to help students in and out of the classroom. the collaboration the with the non-profit center for family services an initiative called

new jersey promise communities to strengthen resources that are already available to families. governor christie's chief of staff appeared before a legislative committee investigating the george washington bridge scandal. during two hours of testimony kevin odowd when he learned one of his subordinants bridget kelly may have been involve. kelly was conspiring to create a traffic jam up as a political retribution. >> governor said something to the effect of, kevin, this bridge issue is still out there, all of the noise about politics political trip trip books. >> he testified that kelly denied involvement but gave him an e-mail saying she knew you what was going on as it unfolded. welshing philadelphia police are asking for your help as they tried to identify a suspect in multiple burglar is in washington square and logan circle. here is surveillance video of have that suspect. they are searching for the man

in connection with three incidents, first of whiz occurred on may the sixth. in each case this guy got away with electronics, the the total value of the losses is around $4,200. police are searching foreman who robbed this 7-eleven in juniata that happened around 5:30 this morning in the 1100 block of east luzerne street. police say that the man was arm with the handgun and wearing a mask. he got away with cash but store clerk was in the injured. there is no word on how much money was taken. twenty-six year-old douglass casey seen here in this surveillance video is facing numerous charges tonight. police alleged that he robbed and sexually assaulted a 34 year-old canadian man whom he had met at a hotel on arch street back on april 9th. police say that the two arranged to meet through the use of the cell phone app could grinder. casey's bail has been set at a million-dollar and due in court june 26th. well there is much more

happening. health reporter stephanie stahl has more on a rare, often misdiagnosed condition, tonight at 11:00. we could soon learn better time line on when the tilting i495 bridge will reopen in wilmington. dell dot says it will detail plans during a briefing tomorrow, meantime though is there growing evidence of a cause, and new concerns about when officials first got word on a problem. "eyewitness news" reporter jane carabao has that. >> reporter: it is a startling sight i495 bridge in wilmington tilting out of alignment and sight alarm enough one man says he called 911 about it a month and a half ago. wilmington businessman charles allen junior made this emergency call april 15th. >> bridge appears to be separating. i drive that bridge every day and been doing it for 25 years. i just noticed on my waste home that the median strip is separating like about a foot difference between the two jersey barriers in between the center of the road.

>> reporter: after this 911 call, he says he what had contacted by a dell dot representative and was told someone would inspect the bridge. dell dot is investigating. meanwhile relocal hoeffel of 50,000 tons of dirt continues today, and experts are becoming more convinced it is weight that caused this problem. >> i think at this point that is most likely culprit. >> the analogy i used for what happens it is like you you had a beach umbrella and put your post in the sand and someone heavy stood on one side right next to it and tilt that had umbrella post over. >> reporter: michael changes is professor of the university of delaware, school engineers are consulting dell dot on a design for solution. >> design will likely be drilling holes into the soil and putting reenforced concrete piles all the way down to the bedrock. >> reporter: then likely the the columns will be rebuilt to the top, damaged ones removed. as far as how this pile got here city of wilmington says in of the required paperwork was ever filed but investigation is underway. we have contacted the private

contract who own that corresponds. jim thomas quickly hung up phone saying he didn't have time to talk and last week he did the same thing, he was busy meeting with his attorneys. reporting from wilmington, jane carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". well, drivers are bracing for more construction on interstate i-95. penndot is planning to rebuild a mile and a half of northbound i-95 between girard avenue and allegheny avenue. work was scheduled to begin tonight but because of the rain they have had a delay. crews will start wednesday night, instead. the philadelphia fire department launches a new water safety program called operation stay on shore. mayor michael nutter and fire officials spoke to students at ferrell school in rhawnhurst about that program. the the goal, to raise awareness on the dangers of the swimming in the city's waterways. thirteen year-old brandon doyle drowned last year. his mother delivered an emotional message to her son's

northward moving away from the shore. i don't think we have to be worried down there but living in the northern and western suburbs and area of the montgomery county, bucks county, lifting north in the lehigh valley you can see the line. very heavy rain highlighted in the yellow, orange and red. biggest problem has been this cell right here in the lower part of the montgomery count that i southeastern corner and northern part of philadelphia, county right here through cheltenham very heavy rain with norristown where we did have a water rescue earlier. car rescue. this is all moving towards the north east a very slow moving thunderstorm and because of this national weather service has issued those flash flood warnings, flash flooding occurs when the waterfalls so heavily from the storms that water rises would see flooding on the area roads, streams, creeks without much notice. please be aware. this is in effect until 8:15 tonight, not limited to these areas but abington, cheltenham, upper dublin be

very, very strong cells. right now we are looking at the the warm temperatures from the city to the shore in the 70's. poconos 62. allentown 73. dover at 83. probability of rain will continue, to be about 40 percent on tuesday, same scenario tomorrow is showers and thunderstorms popping up and heat and humidity. by wednesday we catch a break, thursday and friday more showers and storms and then it will be feeling much better by the time we make it to the weekend. tuesday we a front draped right over us, lifting mechanism to set off showers and storms. when that lifts to the north wednesday warm and humid but you don't have those storms. thursday we will watch all of this mess moving through and will have more rain into friday. aside from the showers and thunderstorms, it is big impact. right now we're between steamy and oppressive when we look at amount of moisture in the air. that is between 65 and 70. the as we look across the delaware valley that is where we are between 65 and 70 and

rain to these dew point. so we will stay in that steamy-- press i have air mass, for at least the next three or four days. tonight mostly cloudy, areas of fog, scattered showers and downpours. they will be diminishing late tonight. for your tuesday, muggy, clouds and showers and downpours and slow moving then are storms. high temperature tuesday 84. on the exclusive eyewitness weather seven day forecast, 85 wednesday. eighty-seven thursday. by the the weekend much better with dryer air moving in, lower humidity and more comfortable conditions. it is really going to feel like summer through rest of the week as we have seen in the seven day. we are talking about the heat and humidity and meteorologist justin drabick shows us why the sticky weather is on the way, hi justin. >> well, we were spoiled with very pleasant wet they are past weekend warm temperatures, low humidity but now humidity is on the rise. here's why, look at water vapor this shows us the flow of the atmosphere and you can

see that moisture moving from the deep south, it is all heading northward in the delaware valley. we have a gulf of mexico across the south, that brings in warm moist humid air. that will persist over next several days. we will look at that dew point temperature that measures how much moisture in the atmosphere. over weekend in the 50's, very pleasant. we have dew point of 67, tomorrow upper 60's, approaching that 70-degree mark. how does that feel. near oppressive, that continued through the week. we may catch a break by the weekend. i'm meteorologist justin drabick. i've got someone else looking for a break too that is a jackknife tractor trailer on 476 southbound the ramp to eastbound schuylkill expressway, as soon as that rain came in that is not only incident that occurred. we have many accidents and disabled vehicles. this is just another one to add to the list. if you are trying to get on the eastbound side have of 76, maybe coming out of the mid county tolls, best thing is to

continue on the pennsylvania turnpike out towards valley forge and jump on the schuylkill there. we have rush hour in a few places, traveling pennsylvania turnpike 476, the schuylkill, definitely i-95 and definitely vine street expressway. we had an earlier disable vehicle on the ben franklin bridge adding volume to the vine and on 676 in new jersey so high volume there patco commuters, if it wasn't always bad, we were experiencing, construction project, and delaying trains 30 minutes in. we are experiencing 15 minute delays through signal problems, give yourself some more time and stay with us on
