political career. the victory was a shock to all, including the winner. surrounded by supporters, political newcomer david brat summed up his stunning victory against majority house leader eric cantor in a way others see it. >> this is a miracle from god. >> he pulled off an unexpected upset dethroning the number 2 republican in the house ending cant cantor's hopes for an eighth term. he outspent brat 0-1. his own internal poll conducted late latest month had hit up 30 pointss over brat. brat centered much of his campaign around one issue, immigrations. he and tea party supporters accuse eric can tore nor being discriminate enough. cantor denied the charge and promised to continue fighting for conservative values

taliban. the troops were on patrol when a fire fight broke out with taliban fighters. the u.s. called in an air strike and tried to escape by helicopter but a bomb dropped by an aircraft thought to be a b-1 bomber killed all the americans and one afghan soldier. he was talking about tin ability of congress to tighten gun control measures. his comments came after a deadly shooting on the campus of an oregon high school. hundreds of students and faculty came together last night a few blocks from renonlds high school. they paid tribute to a 14-year-old killed by a gunman. he also wound add teacherer before apparently killed himself. >> got a call, reynolds high school. >> reporter: the shots fired

inside reynolds high school sent students scattering just after 8:00 in the morning. the school was locked down. >> we just heard two gunshots. everyone was freaking out and we all ran into the weight room hallway and we just hid and locked all the doors. >> reporter: a loan gunman with a rifle fatally shot a student inside the locker room and injured a teacher before killing himself in a school bathroom. >> we have identified the victim in today's shulg at 14-year-old emilio hoffman, a freshman at reynolds high school. >> you've just got to realize it can happen at your school and that's what happened today, and it's sad that we lost such a great guy as emilio. >> reporter: authorities have tent actively identify the gunman but are not releasing his name, age, or the kind of rifle he was shooting. this is the fourth at a school in the 77 weeks since the
