we're starting with breaking news right now a popular restaurant destroyed by flames overnight, we have incredible pictures from a eyewitness on the the screen, more on the story coming up. good morning, it is june 12th i'm erika von tiehl. i'm natasha brown in for ukee washington today. we also are following a stabbing outside emergency room at a local hospital. "eyewitness news" is on the scene. frightening moment when an arm man sticks up a 7-eleven overnight. the key evidence that will lead to an arrest. more in a minute but first though, it is a day of rain, coming up with snow. today is not looking good today, is it. at least that is what you are saying. >> not looking good, good morning. we had a flash flood watch issued for much of the area at noon time.

basically the pattern we are seeing is very similar to the pattern we saw on monday and tuesday. scattered thunderstorms mainly late this afternoon but any of those then are storms can pre dues downpours and that is why that flash flood watch has been issued. here's storm scan three at the moment. we are in the warm sector of the storm. wind from the south direction, a lot of moisture to work with and late this afternoon with the heating of the day we will see these storms pop up and they will be locally heavy. coming up i'll show you where flash flood watch is in effect and when we may finally clear out coming up, for now, back to you guys. we have more on our breaking news. fire fighters are at the scene of the toll house cash in norwood, "eyewitness news" viewer with the twitter, named shawn is tweeting us a couple of the photos here. that is what you are seeing on the screen. calls came in this morning to the tavern on chester pike. fire was under control in a half an hour or so. there are in reports of any

injuries, and "eyewitness news" crew is heading to that scene and we will have more throughout the the morning as we get more information. also, this is new this morning "eyewitness news" live from philadelphia's west oak lane neighborhood where police are investigating an armed robbery at this 7-eleven. it happened 3:30 at the the store on stenton and ogontz avenue. it is unknown how much money was taken. the the robber remains on the the loose. coming up at 4:33, let's talk to kate about the forecast. >> unfortunately another not so nice day. yesterday was cool, cloudy that kept things generally stable. we didn't have heavy then are storms just light rain and drizzle there yesterday afternoon. you you can see what is happening. warm air lifting in. we've got scattered showers right now, as we zoom in on triple sweep not a whole lot happening just light showers moving through portions of montgomery county and cumberland county in new jersey. late this afternoon, spotty but locally heavy then are

storms will pop up and flash flood watch in effect for philadelphia surrounding suburbs, not the shore points or south jersey and delaware you can see chester county, lancaster county, berks county all included in the flash flood watch. that means any thunderstorm that can form can cause localized flooding. watch what happens afternoon time we will get a line of storms drifting from north, south to north, and notice how heavy they are. they are spotty. they are not every where. anyone could pro tuesday rainfall rates over an inch per hour leading to quick flooding on area roadways. play it safe out there if you get stuck in the storm, again, never try to drive through any water that you see on the road. it takes a foot to start moving a car or truck. right now temperatures are only in the low to mid 60's. sixty-three at the the airport. sixty-one allentown. sixty in trenton. here's you're witness weather daily planner. clouds and fog throughout the morning. shower by noon. then we have locally heavy thunderstorms between about

2:00 and 5:00 o'clock this evening. we will keep you posted on. that now we will check with bob, good morning. >> 4:33. live look at i-95 we're moving barriers was a bust last night because of the weather. last night was expected lane change, traffic pattern change on i-95, between girard and allegheny avenue. here's a live look headlights coming southbound there is your girard avenue off ramp and they intended to day to have everybody moved off to the right here on that northbound side but weather certainly kind of foiled the plans there last night. so as you head north on i-95 from center city everything is normal as it was yesterday but again, new traffic pattern change is on the way, sometime over the next couple of days. we will get scoop from penndot and i will pass that along once i know exactly what will happen between girard and allegheny. rolling out of the driveway, all of the roads are damp, wet. maybe a strong storm, role

through with the wipers between point a and point b here, a chemical spill on route one southbound at harrison street centered above trenton, new jersey and construction out on the northbound northeast extension near that quakertown interchange, keep in mind, heading to or through wilmington expect delays because of the closure of 495 and dart is averaging 20 minute delays in the city with the buses. natasha, back over to you. well, new this morning a suspect is in custody accused of stabbing another person in the emergency room at crozer-chester medical center. police say that suspect walk into the er at 11:00 last night and attack the victim. no word right now on the motive behind this stabbing or if the suspect and victim knew each other. up land police say they will have have more details on this case a bit later today. west philadelphia man is arrested and charged with causing a major scare at lincoln tunnel. thirty-nine year-old donald wallace called 911 tuesday and claimed he would shoot people

heading in to new york city. detectives traced the call to the building overlooking the tunnel in new jersey but wallace was not there. he was later track down in manhattan. he is now charged with making terroristic threats and creating false public alarm. also, the truck driver charged in that deadly crash that critically injured tracie morgan pleads in the guilty. >> would i like to enter not guilty, of course. >> kevin roper's attorney entered his client's plea yesterday in new brunswick. roper is facing death by auto and assault by auto charges as well and bail has been set at 50,000 you dollars. roper was driving a wal-mart truck early saturday when he allegedly swerved to avoid slow traffic on the new jersey turnpike, and plowed right into morgan's limo. investigators with the national transportation safety border looking into this crash, this exclusive photo

taken earlier shows them inspecting the vehicles involved in the collision. they are on site to collect evident. teachers who knew how to use a defribillator have apparently saved a student's life. it happened yesterday morning at burlington township middle school in burlington county. a young girl collapse during gym class, faculty members immediately performed cpr and then used an automatedded external defribillator. >> i have no doubt if there was no defribillator and no trained personnel the outcome would not have within as good as it is today. >> the student will be okay. defribillators will be mandatory in all new jersey schools by september 1st. good thinking teachers, and good to have that training too. animal rescue group is trying to help a dog who may have been victim of animal cruelly. >> buckly was found wandering in cumberland county. ten month-old lab mix was thin, weak and rescuers believed that someone duct taped him. buckly has extensive medical

thousands of veterans waiting for medical care. it passed a bill authorizing $35 billion over three years, that would pay for outside care for veterans. the the measure would also hire hundreds of doctors, nurses and at least 26 new health care facilities in 17 states and puerto rico. that bill now moves on to the house. well, there is no break from the rain this week. >> just a miserable week. do you remember last year around u.s. open in merion and it rained through the first two days of it. it is this time of the year. we get these systems that bring moisture and that is what we're dealing with this week. we have on and off unsettled weather but scattered showers and thunderstorms, heavy downpours with any of these as we tap into tropical moisture lifting from the south. storm scan three is live a lot of rain off to the west. there is slight risk for severe weather in portions of central pennsylvania. not so much for us but we have the risk for flash flooding and that is thanks again to the amount of moisture in the

atmosphere. we will feel tropical humidity as we get a south wind to kickback up. it is cool but we will start warm up. as it does so once we get in the heating of the day these showers and storms will intensify and will be locally heavy. triple sweep not showing too much, just a stray shower over bucks and montgomery county. but a flash flood watch will go in effect through noon and late tonight. this is in response to the the storms we had earlier in the week. very similar set up. storms will not be every where but where ever they do form they will be heavy. in that flash flood watch scattered afternoon heavy thunderstorm with rain rates exceeding an inch per hour and we will watch for ponding on the roads and watching those smaller streams as well. some spots may not get wetest specially in south jersey, other spots could look at over an inch or two of rain in the very short period of time. that is afternoon time hour around 3:00 p.m. it is in the every where but locally heavy showers and storms will form. what i'm concern about is they

look like they will be drifting from south to north. if a storm moves over an area and another one forms behind it it is another threat for flooding. tomorrow afternoon it explodes again, showers and storms locally heavy but finally by saturday morning we will clear it out and much nicer weather is on the way for up come fathers day weekend. clouds, fog, showers, heavy thunderstorms. tonight more showers. muggy at 68. heavy storms late tomorrow. then we will get a break, we are looking at 80's with sunshine saturday, sunday, monday as well and warm and steamy again next tuesday. we can use the break from this pattern, natasha. let's chat about sports here, day game today at the ballpark, phillies host padres this afternoon, first pitch 1:05. phillies won two in a row. last night against padres jimmy rollins inches closer to the all time hits record. he is three hits from passing hall of famer mike schmidt.

cole hamels struck out a season high 11 over eight shut out innings and with the score dead locked at zero, the phillies had a walk off three run home run in the bottom of the ninth. phillies win three to nothing. now rangers meantime forced game five in the cup finals thanks to goaltender henrik lung quiz. he made 40 saves last night at madison square garden including one with the little will help from his defense. rangers beat the kings two-one. game five tomorrow night in l.a. is there word that the sixers really want andrew wiggins and they are willing to make a deal to make sure that happens. the sixth isers are talking to the cleveland cavilers about trading up in the nba draft. the cavilers have the first pitch and sixers are offering their their pick and thaddeus young in exchange. wiggins is scheduled to come in next weekend, the draft is

police are searching for suspects after a 7-eleven robbery in west oak lane. gunman to the away with an unknown amount of cash at 3:30 from the store on stenton and ogontz avenue. >> suspect is in custody after a stabbing in the er at crozer-chester medical center. the motive behind this stabbing is still not clear and police are continuing to investigate. and, in west philadelphia he is under arrest for allegedly threatening drivers heading in to new york city. authorities say he called 911

to say wow shoot drivers at lincoln tunnel. police track him to the new jersey apartment and manhattan where he was arrested. it is 4:49. time for a check of business news. >> jill wagner joins us from the new york stock exchange. jill, yesterday's winning streak came to an end, what are we watching for today on wall street. >> reporter: good morning, natasha and erika. wall street will get an idea how much shopping americans are doing. latest sales figures come out this morning. numbers were strong in march but they did slow down in april. may's results could give investors an idea where the economy is going because consumer spending accounts for more than two thirds of economic output. yesterday the markets fell after world bank said global growth may be slower than expect. bank blamed the harsh winter here in the united states and crisis in ukraine, natasha and erika. star bucks, yeah i could go for star bucks right now but star bucks is rolling out

traffic. it is a rough traffic days because of that ballgame this afternoon it will be a mess and i know kate business ready to tell us about some storms, coming our way, fire location on chester pike at south avenue and kate, those storms this afternoon do you think that will impact the phillies game. >> the question is do the storms set upright over citizens bank park. what we're talking about this afternoon is much like monday and tuesday. the storms will set up in a particular location. they are not every where but they will see locally heavy rainfall. if they happen to move over south philadelphia we can talk about a delay and talking about more problems for evening rush with heavy thunderstorms moving through. i want to show you the ocean city boardwalk which you can see lights there and it is fogged in. we have low visability in parts of the area. patchy dense fog. be safe during your morning commute. storm scan three shows that lifting as warm air lifts in the area warm front. drapes itself across the northeast and that is our

mechanism for storms today. storm scan triple sweep showing a stray shower but a flash flood watch issued starting at noon and go right through tonight as these heavier storms is after the noon time hour. lets look at our future weather model at noon or 1:00 we have a line of storms developing extending from the poconos right down through northern delaware and watch how they drift from south to north. they may move over the the exact same area for a couple of hours. if that is the the case we can look at the threat for flash flooding and new castle county right up in the western suburbs and that can continue through about seven or 8:00 o'clock tonight. we will keep a close eye on south philadelphia to see if that is where those storms form. large storm today, slow moving, continuing through to tomorrow, it is not until tomorrow night that cold front sweeps through and then we have much nicer weather, with high pressure building in after storms today and storms tomorrow, sat the day looks beautiful. now back to natasha. now lets get a check of
