islamic militants continue their push toward the capital and sclam they've executed hundreds of iraqi soldiers. and it's reported that the u.s. may seek the help of iran to control the deteriorating situation. susan mcginnis is in washington. susan, good morning. >> good morning. support grows in washington for the u.s. to coordinate its response with iran. u.s. officials are sending nearly 100 sold yerps and marines to secure the american embassy in baghdad. some have been sent toward the middle part of the country. the extremic group has already captured a large part of northern iraq and said it was behind yesterday's deadly blast in baghdad. over the weekend the group

depiction of blood lust. remember that the militants are sunni muslims while most of iraq's army is made up of shiite muslim muslims. >> what can you tell us about isis and its leadership? >> reporter: he's so elusive we have a couple of grainy images of him. but he now commands several hundred men across iran and syria. now he's so feared that some people have dubbed him the new osama bin laden and the u.s. has place add $10 million bounty on his head. holly? >> holly williams in erbil thank you so much.

authorities blame an al qaeda-linked group al shabaab. over night israelis arrested dozens of palestinians as they search for three missing teenagers. the students miwere missed from the west bank on thursday. as charlie d'agata reports, israel blames hamas. >> reporter: they're searching house to house for the missing teenagers. they searched in and around the ci city. the three van issued thursday afternoon while hitchhiking to home.

he's a dual american citizen. she says he should know the world is turning the world upside down in the search. israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu put the blame squarely on the militants and warned of serious consequences if the men aren't released soon. senior hamas leaders were arrested. although the military praised the abduction, they still haven't released them. thousands of jewish worshippers gathered at the western wall for a mass prayer. there is growing concern about the teenager teenagers. they can't even confirm if the young men or dead or alive.

target stores, and amazon gets into the smartphone business. jill wagner is at the new york stock exchange with that and more. good morning, jill. >> good morning, marlie. lots of frustrated customers at several target stores last night. the cash registers went down in five states in new york city. some customers tweepted photos of the long lines. one said there were 26 families waiting for two registers. target apologized for the delay and said it was not a security issue. asian stocks were mixed amid the conflicts in iraq and ukraine. tokyo's nikkei lost 1%. hong kong's hang seng lost a fraction. here on wall street, all eyes will be on the federal reserve. the central bank has a policy meeting this week and investors will be looking for hints the fed is going to be racing interest rating. last week the dow fell 148 points. the nasdaq drop 10d points. amazon will unveil a new product on wednesday. it is rumored to be a smartphone with 3-d pictures.

one year after falling to the miami heat in game seven of the nba finals, the san antonio spurs exact their revenge. after a sluggish start in game five last night, san antonio takes control and wipes out miami to win the nba championship. the spurs notched their fourth double-digit victory in the series, winning 104-87. it's the fifth title in spurs history and star tim duncan has been there for all of them. but he says this one is the most special. >> for whatever reason, it is sweeter than any other, whether it be because of the time frame because i'm coming toward the end of my career, because i can have these two here really remembering and enjoying the

here's a look at today's forecast in some cities around the country. this morning it's unclear if a man who disrupted a jetblue flight over the weekend will face criminal charges. the passenger ignored pleas from his family to calm down. he started screaming and lunged at flight attendants about 90 minutes into a flight from new york to las vegas on saturday. the crew was able to restrain him and the train was diverted to detroit. the music world is reacting to the death of the one of the best loved voices in radio. casey kasem was the host of

"american top 40." he was 82 years old. as carter evans shows us, his final days were part of an intense family feud. >> in the days when dichk jockeys ruled the music industry, casey kasem was king. his voice broadcast to every city in america. >> this is "american top 40 and our countdown begins." >> reporter: initially only a few carried the show. kasem who said he wanted to be the ed sullivan of radio thought there was a place on the dial for a wholesome weekly countdown. he was right. kasem hosted a.t. 40 for more than two decades. his most famous segment. a long distance dedication to an arkansas woman to a man she left in south america.
